OK, I've been wanting to know if this is possible for a while and the recent discussion on mixing has prompted me to ask about it.
It may even be built in to VDJ - or possible via mapping, but I'd love to be able to do this. I think even that Automix does it!!!
So here's the deal. I've got two tracks that mix together really well, however the current track 87bpm and the next is 99bpm.
I slow the next track down and beatmatch at 87 (or I may raise the track to 90 before I start).
What I want to do is start and then during the mix increase the tempo back to the tracks native bpm of 99, but at the same time increasing the first tracks bpm but at a controlled pace.
One method I though of was to use the pitch reset and then just keep pressing the sync button as the pitch climbs or falls.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers,
Roy

i think i understand what you mean. I have 2 keys asigned on my keyboard to 'beat lock'
Basically i press pitch reset on the rmx then i press the key on my keyboard to beatlock the song to the deck opposite. This brings both decks into sync.
I hope this is what you mean Roy?

You really need to discover the pitch_lock function in this latest version. It will lock on the track's real pitch (not CBG) so that pitch will match/sync anywhere within the range on both decks, whether you using controllers pitch slides or within the software itself.

Dannyboy...is that effective always or do they sometimes slip out of sync?

it is effective if you get the bpm bars, under the wave form sort of aligned before you introduce the next song.

So do you have to do this repeatedly as the track comes back to 0%. I was hoping to be able to link the to picthes so that changing one would automatically sync the other one. Thus leaving hands free for efferts and fading.
Obviously the RMX has puttons for both pitch reset and sync so no keyboard mapping required if this technique works.

Ranes,
Thanks found it:
pitchlock : lock the pitch sliders on both decks so both will move together.
I'll have a play. I have a few questions you may be able to answer:
Is this a toggle on/off command?
Does it turn off automatiually when you load a new track?

Roy

OK done it (and answered my own questions ;-)
Assigned pitchlock to ALT+F1 and yep, when I pressed pitch reset button both decks remained in sync - sweet!!!
However on loading a new track pitchlock remained in place so you do have to remember to hit the assigned key again to unlock.
So the next question is, to get pitchlock to unlock when a track is loaded on to the other deck would this require changes in the skin being used?

Roy
