Just loaded 6.04 and now the video that is playing will freeze until a video is loaded into the opposite deck? Only thing that changed was I uninstalled v6.02 and installed v6.04. Never had this problem before, any ideas on fixes anyone?
Also the slight video pause I have ALWAYS experienced when a video is loading is much more noticable....upto 4 seconds on some videos.
I have a quadcore 64 bit running at 2.3ghz. Nvidia gt230 video card with 512ddr3 dedicated and up to 4gig shared, 8gig ddr3 ram.
Videos are on a 1tb 7200rpm external usb 2.0 drive.

Turn off autocue and the freeze at load will go away, BUT as soon as you hit the cue button to take it to the cue it will freeze (at least it does in my case), just test it out, I wanna see what ur system does.

absolutely not, never in my life. Never connected to the net with that computer while playing.

no change at all. It's so weird why the video just started (let's say in Deck A) freezes as soon as the video in Deck B stops and then the video in Deck A starts again as soon as a video is loaded in Deck B. Audio keeps playing normally.

does it on EVERY video regardless of the format, length, etc.....it does NOT happen in autoplaylist mode (but then it is only using one player and loading the new video instantaniously which seems to be the key)

Hmm odd. Video drivers up to date as well as directX?

Okay, I did a complete format and reinstall of Vista, all drivers and direct x (did not install codecs as I wanted to see if maybe there was a conflict with the VDJ codecs) and only program I installed was Virtual Dj 6.04....believe it or not the freezing was even worse!
I uninstalled 6.04 went back and reinstalled 6.01 (thought I had 6.02 but I guess I never downloaded that one) and it has been working perfectly for 2 hours of testing this morning.
Any way the dev team can look into this or if anyone else has this problem let me know, in the mean time 6.01 will do me fine.

Wow dj-e-lectric
I was just starting to install 6.4 over the weekend, I can't afford that headache right now i'm to busy, I'll keep using 5.2.1 till this gets resolved.
Good Luck on your show

Okay about 2 hours into the show last night I had the same problem (version 6.01) and it got so bad that after a while longer the videos would not even load, so it is definitely not a VDJ problem, it is either a vista or hardware problem. Since I installed a completely fresh reformat and reinstall of vista I don't think it's that.
This machine was returned to Gateway to replace the video card that quit working about 3 weeks ago and I was wondering if that had anything to do with it? The video card is NVIDIA GT230 with 1.5 gig DDR 3 ram (thought it was only 512 but I read the box and it says it is 1.5) and can use up to 6 gig of shared ram (the computer has 8 gig).
I have ordered my free upgrade to windows 7 I was going to wait for that and see if that had any effect unless anyone knows what hardware problem would cause this and how to fix it.

Well I hope you get it resolved.
I'm going to do a seperate install of 6.4 independent of 5.2.1 and see how it works in my system, will try for a week, if ok will try it on a gig and see how it responds.
Thanks

i bought 2 new systems in the last few weeks , 1 vista home premium, 1 w7 home premium .....
my grafx cards are both amd 4650s , 1 gig , system ram is 4 gig on w7 , and 8 gig on the vista ........
both have had freezing problems that i never had with xp
i got some help on an online service chat with ACW.....he said set response to fastest in the performance tab ( that alone got rid of most , but not all, problems)
next he said try direct x 9 (not 10) next update amd drivers ........ those last 2 steps seemed to make things a lot worse , so i restored to the previous day in system restore
now , it's better , but still occasionally freezes .......hope that helps ... although my card is different you could try those steps ....
