HI ALL, SAME PROBLEM
same problem that everybody else is having I'm running
V6.0.7
Computer specs
ASUS G73H
windows 7 64bit
i7 720qm
ATI HD 5870 Video Card
8gigs ram
1GB DDR5 Dedicated memory.
I'm a computer tech, so what i did was install a second operating system on the same computer, (Windows XP 32bit)took out 4 gigs and left it with only 4 gigs of ram, installed all the updated drivers including ati driver, and EVERYTHING WORKD PERFECT MEANING COMPUTERWISE,
different operating system SAME PROBLEM. EVEN more freezes
my conclusion IS
NEW HD CARDS (ATI OR NVIDIA) causes the integrated video or WMP decoder to fail in VDJ (AND PCDJ VJ SAME COMPANY), even installed k-lite 32 and 64 bit decoders, made them default for WMP so VDJ could use them when I Chose WMP as a decoder. everything still failed...
I CAN'T FIND ANOTHER VIDEO DJ SOFTWARE THAT CAN DEAL WITH THESE NEW HD VIDEO CARDS... I RULED OUT THE NEW i3, i5 or i7 processors because other people have had the same problem with other older processors.
we need a fix quick, i rely on solely video remixing, I tried, VOB, AVI, MPG, MPEG, MP4 and still gave me the same problem, even SOMETIMES with CD+G

My laptop:
ACER ASPIRE 7741G
Core i5 2,26 ghz
4gb RAM
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 5650 1GB RAM
WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 32 BIT
Video freezes at random times, some times only loads 40 sec on the next video.
My older laptop
ASUS X59SL
Core 2 Duo 1,66 ghz
3GB RAM
Ati MOBILITY 3470 256mb RAM
WINDOWS 7 32 bit
Works PERFECT
I think the problem is the new video cards
Its very frustrating my older laptop isn't powerful enough for newer hd videos
Hope this is is fixed very soon.

Fixing Virtual DJ Video Freezing problem: I tried many options finally figure out the problem. It's the Hardware Acceleration. If your running Windows OS go to your display settings right click onto you desktop and click properties go to settings and click on Advance look for trouble shoot tab click onto it and you'll see Hardware Acceleration am sure right now it's set to full go ahead and set it down 2 notches down and click ok. Now you should be able to play both videos without freezing. If you have any other problem with other softwares go ahead and reset it back to full. Hope this helps! Let me know by replying to this forum Thanks!

Disabling hardware acceleration isn't a fix as it breaks your ability to use plugins and transitions properly - so you might as well not be running video.
I believe this issue has been fixed in VDJ7 - please stop bumping old threads. Topic locked.
