Guys,
Would appreciate your views on the following laptop which I'm thinking of buying for video mixing:
http://uk.ts.fujitsu.com/home/products/notebooks/amilo_pi_3560.html
I've been narrowing down laptops which have dedicated video memory as I'm concerned that shared memory may impede performance (although 1 previous post I read on here suggested this isn't much of an issue).
As far as "running hot" is concerned, is it worth investing on a "cooling-base" to fit under the laptop or are internal laptop fans generally good enough under "club conditions"?
I'll be hooking-up an E-SATA drive to the laptop - anything I need to worry about here?
As far as the OS is concerned, am planning on running Win7 - again, anything to worry about here? OS stability is my main concern as I want to be running something that's as rock-solid as possible.
Any help/advice would be most appreciated (particularly laptops/specs you'd recommend)....

the first thing i would ask is what is your budget for this setup? i am looking at a dell studio 15 or hp dv7 series, i currently use one huge external usb drive for my video/karaoke (1.5tb) and a 1tb for mp3's . the current lappy is a toshiba satellite a-500 customized and it works perfectly for both. hope that gives you a little insight

One word for ya GeForce. at least 256 not shared. IF more, shared is cool.
i see ATI on the problem list more often.
You read the other post about cards though right. So a lot of it comes down to how you're gonna use this vids; if just play then specs are lower.
FX, loop, scratch- better get 512 mb.

I have amilo 3660 which is basically same laptop but bigger, it works very well with VDJ. It has same specs as 3560 except it has bigger resolution and bigger size. I think now I would select 3560 because of the size and being less clumsy to carry. 3660 Has absolutely no heating problems, but maybe it's cooling system benefits the bigger size. I have heard that 3560 might have some heatign issues.
