If you're reading this thread you owe me one huge favor. Forget everything you've ever learned about mixing. Break the rules. Get up, get to your equipment, and go crazy. You have nothing to lose when you're at home, too many DJs are "careful" when they mix which does nothing but bring about the same generic mixes we can all create. Don't be scared to touch your mixer! We can all be great djs but it takes someone creative and fearless to do something new. So that's my advice to you now have fun and go nuts.

Brilliant advice, flicking the crossfader around messing with EQ like your strangling a cat and generally messing about and experimenting can lead u to lots of new ideas and techniques.
