Tópico: Virtual DJ 6.0.5 Mac Video Problems!! - Page: 2

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I would like to report that the latest version 6.0.7 on the mac seems to work pretty good with video... I haven't done a full test but on my 4 year old MBP running OS 10.6.2 1.83 Core Duo 2gb ram, ATY,RadeonX1600 128 MB runs video and available effects nearly as good on OSX as it does in bootcamp on XP.

Some notes so far:
More memory is used on the system Activity Monitor reports:
264mb RAM and 282mb VRAM (1.1gb available)
CPU usage (viewed in program) is still very high about 90 to 100% sustained playing to videos and effects...
Activity Monitor no longer reports 95-105% CPU usage...
Now it is reporting between 160-185% CPU usage...

This is interesting and seems to illustrate that VDJ was finally optimized to make use of 2 cores rather than stop at one... not sure if video was actually optimized or not but considering previews now work on V-Mix 5.4 on my MBP which is cool .
End result is video works with both cores and plays smoothly finally.
Interface doesn't slow or lock up under load.
Still has a way to go but it seems to be stable and working. Newer machines should fly like 5.2.1 with all the new upgrades.

Try it out and post your results!

Still not working.

What exactly isn't working? Everyone is reporting back that 6.07 plays video smoothly on all of our mac's here they are playing well.

I'm gonna keep checking but have the issues been resolved regarding the new update 6.0.7 and ns7? The last time we updated we ended up having to retreat back to .0.5 due to our plates not responding correctly to our scratch attempts. Thanks!

Spun my first Prom of the '10 season last night with 6.0.8. Ran flawlessly with MP3, vob/mpg2 mpg1 and mpg4.

I am seeing some serious CPU utilization that will not cease. I was mid-show and did not have time to run diagnostics, but I have a sneaky suspicion it may have actually been related to FireFox (needed FB and gMail access). I'll take a moment this week and hook everything back up to see where the cause lies. Otherwise, Kudos to Atomix for evolving the Mac version into a much more stable product.

you don't wanna run firefox while djing your best bet is to run chrome, the latest firefox has some serious memory problems. been doing some shows here with 6.08 and the ns7 all with great sucess.

I was going to comment on the issues with safari and Firefox effecting performance but Cyder nailed it.
I will download chrome if and use that if I need to get online. Thank you for the tip!

I also noticed issues with downloading from iTunes Music Store and performance in the later versions too.

RAM can be your worst nightmare, you may elect to not use anything other than VDJ when spinning, also research on how to disable the dashboard, i did and noticed a bit more resources were free

version 7.04 and nothing has changed on this issue ...

1. Make a new User profile for DJ.
2. No internet use - Safari I'm looking at you, using the features in Virtual DJ is a different story so you should be fine.
3. Config - Settings - Codecs - set .mp4 .mov .m4v etc are Quicktime native Set them to be decoded by quicktime.

So far so good for my system" (...)

Please, how did you do your Quicktime encoder work with VDJ?
