i have been noticing an on going issue with the 6.0.5 update. as i load songs i see extra parts of the song added to the end of the track. just random parts of the same song but there non the less. whats going on with the new update. again 5 things get fixed and more things become an issue. can someone address this and what can be done to fix it?

Still no fix for this issue. If you wait until the song loads completely in the deck before you hit play then it should not do this.

I have talked about it in other threads but not in the video freeze thread because it is not related to the video freezing and it only happens if you have a cue point in your vid and start the song before it finishes loading. Normally you would not have to start the song that quickly after dropping it onto the deck but with the video freeze you don't have time and usually have to drop the song in and hit play right away to avoid dead air.

thank you!
that explains why I've never seen it..
and YES! I was able to recreate the issue, doing exactly what you said..
most of my videos 'load in' under 4 seconds (basically .5 sec per song length)
so I had to specifically set a cue point at about halfway thru the song, and hit play before it finished loading..
at the end was a piece of song that shouldnt be there!
couple of weird side notes..
I COULD NOT get the same thing to happen with my .m4v (Itunes) videos?? only with my .mpeg (renamed from .vob)
size of file?
Also the same thing happened no matter what a had "Max Load" set too.. (which confuses me.. why would a snippet get added to the end when the whole song isnt even loaded in memory yet?!!)

I am so glad I don't do videos. Every time I turn around, the latest release is giving someone heartburn while doing video.

the problem is i don't stop my cdj every time i load a song. i go through a verse here, hook there etc while out in the clubs so its always moving. this is something that should be an easy fix being it didn't happen until this update? anyone on the atomix side of things have anything to add?
yes i am on windows 7 ultimate.

not sure what you mean by "database" issues but i haven't had a crash since i upgrade to 6.0.5 and with 6.0.4 it was hit or miss. if i gotta deal with a problem i would rather it be extra on the end rather than random crashes. although i would LOVE to not have to deal with any problems but oh well.

I do 99% video, my last crash was December 2008. (With more than 1,000 hours of live performance)
For ME It's a matter of not upgrading ANYTHING until there's a need to upgrade. :^)

yeah me too but when your told by staffers that the roblems you have are solved by the upgrade you do. then you see new problems. lke i said i haven't had a crash since 6.0.5 but now i have other issues. kinda sucks trading in 1 for 3 not good odds.
also i AM glad i do video people love it and it opens up the marketing side of what i do!

It's known bug (at least for me). Extra music snippet is loaded if you jump to the area of waveform which is not analyzed yet. For example it happens if you have already set a cue and it autojumps to the cue before track is fully analyzed. To prevent this, disable autocue from settings.
Its not W7 64 bit releated. I have also backup laptop which has win xp and also does this bug. It's been around sice 6.0x (not sure which version of x but it does not exist in vdj 5)

Virtual DJ team should use some automatic tests to prevent new bugs from appearing when new version is released. I know this as I work in software projects myself which have automatic test coverage certificates.

Regression testing... it's a big part of what I do to. We consider:
Tests for new functionality
Tests for existing functionality
Tests for new fixes
Tests for previous fixes
This list justs gets added to for each release. However you cannot under estimate the time each test takes nor the need for making sure the tests get run "the same way" every time...
Cheers,
Roy
