Tópico: My crossfader died

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Well, after about 2 1/2 years my crossfader on my Numark CM2000 USB has decided to fail me.

Luckily I can replace it though so here's my question. What crossfader should I buy? Should I get the exact same one the mixer originally had? Or a "better" one? Also is 2 1/2 years a decent amount of life for a crossfader or should I contact Numark about this?

Also, I can't seem to find the exact match for my crossfader. Can anyone link me to one? (the Numark parts store says they're sold out)

Yours is clearly better than mine. My fader started failing after about half a year.
The Numark version is plug-and-play. 2 Screws and you can take it out. Disconnect the connector and it's out. So far I haven't been able to find a replacement other than the original. I didn't take it apart to find out if the faderstart switches are in the fader or external (in my case the faderstart is giving me troubles.)
So my question is about the same: did someone found out if a replacement other than the Numark is available?

check to see if a pro x fade or an innofader will work. way better fader, bout 100 each, usually plug play.

Thanks, Lamont!!
Been checking out both faders: InnoFader won't fit. It goes too deep into the mixer and then I have to find a place for the adaptorboard. (The CM200 is a pretty compact mixer.....)
Best chance with the Pro X. But on the site I only see an adapterkit for Numark's SM1. This could mean I have to drill 2 new holes in the mixer to mount the fader onto the original mountingplate.

I'll give the importer an ring next week, maybe they'll have a solution.

Martin - contact innofader directly by email - at the new namm they released a new model that is share like a right angle that might fit in that space - also the curve control and reverse controls comes in a dial that actually is mounted outside of the mixer.

still not sure if itll work... but just a thought.

Thanks again. Wasn't aware of the new gizmo's. The original info I had came from their site, and there was no info about the angled mountingplate.

Nope, it won't fit. First, here's the mixer:

Now I guess you understand why mounting in a 90 degree angle won't fit. And what I've explained before is that the fader goes in too deep. Actually: the video showed me that it is bigger than I expected. The main board of the mixer is on the bottom so there's just not enough space there.
Too bad... You gotta love that fader...
So: Back to the Pro X. I'll post back if I have some more info.

Grtz, Martin.
