Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hi fellow Djers

I am getting back into the Dj scene and need help with some of the latest products.
I think that Virtual DJ is an awesome piecs of software. but now I need to match it up with some more hardware
( remember price is not that important when it comes to good sound and operation)

So First Question :

How would you rank the current vdj compatible hardware ie herules, denon pioneer, etc, etc (best to least) ??

Ps If this has been discussed before please add a link to those threads

cheers
Rick

I think they all have thier draw backs. I am picky about sound (REALLY PICKY) and my RMX fits the bill for me and it has been good for a year now. I just pray my computer does not crash as it is useless without one (USB power and PC software dependant). That is where the price goes up (VCI 300 and NS 7). If you are not great with computers (or don't have faith in Windows) then the $800 to $1300 will be worth it as they power and function without a running computer (to the best of my knowledge). Which should give you the ability to use an external source and bypass the PC or problem until you fix the situation.

Get the NS7. Its an all in one very nice setup. It has everything you need and its very comfortable because of its size. I have a VCI 300 and im going to get rid of it to buy the NS7. I had enough of really compact controllers. I just want to have good feel and be comfortable with full control of each deck.

I've used the RMX, but got rid of it. Too small a format for my liking.

I use my Denon X500 Mixer with the Denon HC4500 controller & runs flawless mixing videos 5 nights a week.

In 'Denon' I trust.

I have looked at the NS7, but it takes up just as much space as my Denon set up which also allows me 2 extra inputs for my MP3 player & something else if I need. (NS7 also costs more)

It's best to have a real hardware mixer that can continue to operate regardless of what happens with your computer. The Denon HC4500 and X500 is a good combination. If you also add the BU4500 CD drawer unit, you can also switch between PC and CD's at the press of a button, allowing you to have a CD on standby as a backup.

I carry a hercules mk2 and a spare laptop in case of emergencies, but I find it too small and fiddly, and a bit plasticky for regular use. That said, it's very good value in terms of features and sound quality.

My main rig consists of a DAC-2 controller and hardware mixer (a behringer ddm4000 in my case) hooked up to a custom built pc all boxed up together (see my profile pics). It's different strokes for different folks i guess - what sort of style are you playing, and where? These could be big deciding factors when choosing your kit. For example, the NS7 strikes me as a cumbersome overkill if you're just doing some basic mixing at a wedding. By the same token, my DAC-2 would be of no use to you if you're doing the scratchy thing...

The reason why i say get the NS7 is because, It has an input where you can connect a cd player if something goes wrong with virtual dj. On top of virtual dj not working properly... It comes with serato Itch dj software. Now you you have 2 choices. If you are an oldschool dj and getting back into the game.. You will feel right at home with the NS7.

Wouldn't powering the controller through an external USB hub solve the problem? To my knowledge the Hercules RMX does support an Ipod.

Most software based mixers such as RMX will not function without the DJ software running. They have no hardware mixing capabilities on their own.

Only a mains powered real hardware mixer will be able to continue operating with a backup source (E.g: iPod) if your computer goes down for any reason.

I'm sure your suggestions will vary as much as the number of people that recommend them. It's all about your comfort level. You will need to figure out what you want to do. I use the Korg Zero4 and would suggest it to everyone. You have the control of a standard mixer and the ability to mix either with sound sources or Virtual DJ. There is also no need for an external sound card either.

Not until you register your software, sorry, hope to see you with use soon.

I also use the Denon set up as JPBoggis. Not widely known is that if you use the fader start option with the mixer and the CD drawers, you can fire off the CD instantly with fader start should the pc/software crash, without the controller being allocated to the CD drawers

Saved my life a couple of times!!
