Really simple question.
Me and my buddy wanna start mixing together using 2 different laptops, 2 different libraries, but we still wanna be able to mix together (Me using my laptop/library, Him using his laptop/library)
I guess that sounds right.
Any idea how this is done or if its even possible?

I don't know how you wanna realise that technical but i think this will not work.
Also you must have TWO licenses of VDJ because the usage right is licensed to a single person (with max. 2 computers, not at the same time).

Piece of cake. Take the output of each mixer and put it into a 3rd mixer or have one DJ's mixer go into the other mixer provided it has an available line in.
Hopefully you will be using properly licensed software.

You need a four channel mixer, and two sound cards. Your Computer with a sound card going to channels 1 & 2 on the mixer. His computer and his sound card, going to channels 3 & 4. Thats if you want to use one mixer, and share headphones. If not, use a third mixer and you are done.

I double dj many times. Here's my simple solution.. Just add an external. My friend uses his laptop and if i want to mix using my files, i just connect my HD. One person brings his laptop and the other person connects his HD if he wants to jump in using his music. Why bring mores stuff to a partie. Too many wires, another laptop, another soundcard.. Nah....

A friend of mine and I do tag team sets relatively often using my Korg Zero4
It's got two firewire ports on it one goes to him, the other to me, I assign channels 1 and 2 to myself, 3 and 4 to him and then we both have our own full midi setups and can use the Korg sound interface together. That way we can get realyly dynamic and use combinations of all 4 deck while feeding off eachother.
