Tópico: Shure SM58 + Hercules RMX = Solution: Behringer MIC100???

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hello again forum!

Now I'm the somewhat proud owner of a Hercules RMX and a Shure SM58s microphone I bought the other day. I noticed that the microphone was very quite (eventhou the volume knob was put on max) and that VDJ wouldn't record/broadcast the input from the microphone.

I read a couple of posts on this forum, and saw that this was apperently a common problem because the RMX doesn't support mic's with and impedance above somewhere along the lines of 100 Ohm, and I noticed that the Shure SM58s is a mic with 300 Ohm impedence.

Now, one of the posts said a solution would be to buy the Behringer MIC100 microphone preamplifier

and make the microphone run through preamplifier, and the preamplifier through the Hercules RMX mic input, but can anybody support this?

My technological knowledge is quite low, so I can't say I'm sure what a preamplifier does, and if this will fix the problem, but I thought I would ask the wonderful forum before I went & spent 46 euro's on this thing :)

TL;DR - Is the formel presented in the title correct ?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers!
-Mikkel
