Hey guys I am completely new to the DJing World. I have always wanted to be a DJ ever since I started to listening to music. I have my MacBook Pro set to handle what a DJ would need (at least I think). I also have Virtual DJ and want to get started.
To give you a little about me. I am really into music but know nothing how to do setup music. I know how to read notes counts beats and have ideas to mixes but thats about it.
I want to get a controller but I don't know what would be good for me. I want to be more mobile then anything, but clubbing would be nice if I learned how to handle it. I just love to dabble in DJing and hopefully make my way into VDJing.
Anyways my specs are this:
MacBook Pro 13"
4 GB RAM
2.26 Ghz INtel Core 2 Duo
Nvidia GeForce 9400M 512MB
Does anyone have any tutorials to help me get started like videos and stuff? Or any classes to take? I live in Boston, MA. Any help would be really appreciated.
I honestly love techno, dance, electronic, house, reggae, r&b, hip-hop/rap, reggaeton, and bachata. Those kind of musics I want to work with. But i really want to get into like taking violins and not commonly used instruments and introduced them to my kind of genre of music. Thanks and take care guys peace

The first places I would start is to check out the VDJ Wiki
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/index.html
and of course start browsing the forums..
you should also think about registering your copy of VDJ
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/FAQ.html
as a registered user gets a lot more benefits then a non-licensed user..

Ok I know this may sound stupid of me to say. But my brother both me this laptop as a gift with the Virtual DJ installed so how do I register it and figure out if its pro or not?
I havent touched it yet cause I want to watch the videos first on how to use it and get started.
I dont know if that question was directed at me about what equipment I want so yeah was it?

You will need to register the serial number on the following page:
http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html
You can see what version it is under CONFIG -> Info
NOTE: Sharing of licenses is prohibited and they may also not be sold, given or transferred to another user. Doing so is a violation of the End User License Agreement: http://www.virtualdj.com/atomixproductions/disclaimer.html
If the serial is already registered (I.e: Belongs to your brother and he has installed his copy on your laptop) then you will need to purchase your own license: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
