I would like to know how u get sound through the head phone jack on VJ. I just got a Hercules DJ steel controller, i have down loaded everything and followed all the prompts and still have nothing could i get some help from someone plz and thank u.

In Order to use the headphone previewing mode with Virtual DJ, your soundcard need to be multi-channel, i.e have at least 2 stereo outputs. 1 will be used for your main mix ( what is controller by the Crossfader), and the other for headphone previewing.
As most laptop soundcard only provide one output, you will probably have to purchase a dedicated external soundcard. Various models are offered in every price range. Here are some examples:

Once your soundcard is installed, you will need to configure VDJ to use it. A basic configuration would look like this:
- Input : None
- Output(s): Headphone > Master: Output 1/2 / Headphone: Output 3/4
-Soundcard: (The name of your soundcard)
