Can I use this gear with Virtual dj? I cant get the soundcard to work. I have downloaded the drivers from mayas website but it just wont work. Is there a problem with my laptop? Is it the 64bit?
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE HELP ME.

Does virtualdj and the maya44 usb work with windows 7 64 bit laptops?

Hi, sounds like you might be having a compatabilty issue with the "drivers" and Windows 7 64 bit operating system.
Contact the manufacture of your sound card and try to get the latest updated driver for the hardware that works with Windows 7 64 bit, it could be that the driver is set for 32 bit.
Also update your Direct X files through Microsoft's Website to the latest version for 2010.
I've had similar problems like that too, especially on my controller to which the driver is set for 32 bit and I am running 64 bit and Windows 7 Professional.
Virtual DJ Software works with Windows 7 32 & 64 bit operating systems, so it's not the VDJ program.
Best of luck,
Jeff

Why do you have the 64bit version of Windows 7 on a very low spec machine with 2Gb RAM?
XP Professional 32bit would greatly increase performance.

I have the laptop that I have. Why ask why? Can you help me? Telling me that something I DONT have is not helping with what I DO have. Can you help me get this up and running with the set up that I DO have?
Mensajes Fri 18 Jun 10 @ 2:33 pm
I don't use the maya but if you drop down to win 7 that will help you. have a look around the tech and hardware forum for posts, actually there is a post going on just now in the general forums concerning win7 32 and 64, may give you a better insight into your problem.
I can tell you snapping at people who are attempting to give assistance doesn't help your predicament.
Hope you get it sorted.

XP my friend is the answer on such a low end system. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. A fresh install of XP 32 bit and you should be ok.

I am not snapping at anyone. Just trying to get help with what I own. If I had macbook money or high end dell money, I would have one but since I dont, I need help with what I got. It makes no sense to me for someone to ask why I have win 7 on a low spec cpu. To me thats just rude. 64bit Win 7 is on the laptop because thats how it came. im not a computer geek. I asked for help not for someone to ask me why my laptop has windows 7 on it but it sucks.
I did not realize that I have a very low spec laptop. What specs are low? What do i need? If I put 32bit xp on this laptop will that make it better?
Can i put win xp 23 bit on this laptop? I don't know how that stuff works.

Apologies if I appeared rude, but *most* people who visit here have a good or basic knowledge of computers and hardware.
Basically X64 versions of Windows are required where the PC needs to support more than 3gb RAM. As yours is an older machine it must have come with XP originally but has been upgraded at some point to the X64 version of Windows 7 which is not the best for an older machine and is pointless as you only have 2gb of RAM.
Generally DJ software works better on XP as it's not so resource hungry and 99.9% of drivers will support XP 32bit. Using Windows 7 X64 will slow down your machine and limit the hardware you can run on it due to the lack of 64bit drivers in some cases.
Can I suggest without being rude that you learn a bit about PC's and operating systems as that will greatly help you in the future.
Please let me know if you need any more help or assistance.
Regards
Keith

Thank you Keith. Apology accepted.
I do have basic knowledge but im not a computer geek or programmer. My laptop is not an older laptop. In fact, it's brand new. It has never had xp on it. I purchased it brand new from WalMart about a month ago. It came with the OS and specs that I stated. I thought the specs were good enough. I know nothing about win 7 except that its supposed to be better than vista. I thought that I could maybe upgrade the memory if need be but I cant get the soundcard to work.
Can I load XP on this laptop? That is something I don't know. If loading XP will allow my soundcard to work and allow virtual dj to work then thats what I will do as soon as I can afford to purchase XP pro. I have never loaded an OS before. What will I need to do? What will I need to be careful of?

The E525 has the following Specs:
Acer eMachines E525-2200 Notebook PC - 15.6" LCD / Intel Celeron 900 2.2GHz / 3GB DDR2 / 250GB HD / DVD±RW/CD-RW drive / 802.11b/g Wireless LAN / Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
It's upgradeable to 4GB Ram and if you have less than 3 you should upgrade
The 900 Is a 64Bit processor and he will need a 64Bit OS
Windows XP 64 Bit will work but why downgrade he already has a good working 64Bit OS
i use the Maya 44 USB on the same OS,
unplug the maya card.
Download the newest drivers from http://www.esi-audio.com
this link might also work http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=40&g=2&l=en
WHEN INSTALLING THE SOUNDCARD DRIVER IT WILL ASK YOU TO PLUG IN AND REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM THE USB PORT
A FEW TIMES:
AWAYS USE THE SAME PORT...
ALWAYS USE THE SAME PORT...
After the drivers are installed, no need to reboot. . fire up virtual DJ with the Maya44 USB PLUGGED INTO THE SAME PORT!!!
In Config under sound setup select ASIO SoundCard then Select the Maya 44 USB as the ASIO Soundcard.
if your using timecode/external mixer set as needed... (Read the manual)
unfortunetly you got the short end of the stick with your emachine for $100 more you could have had an i5 with 6gigs of ram

Good luck...
Enjoy the Demo... buy the product...
have fun!

I'm really quite surprised ..... I have a Sony Vaio U50 I bought in 2004 that has a Celeron 900 in it. I thought those processors had been superceded years ago!

your U50 came with a 900MHz (Pentium M) processor not a model 900

Haz0rd, Thank you for explaining everything that you did. I tried to explain that my laptop was new out the box and never had xp on it but some people seemed to think that I have an old laptop that was upgraded to win 7. Also, thank you for letting me know that I can't put 32bit xp on this laptop.
As far as getting the maya 44 working, I have tried this again and again with the same result. NOTHING. The maya 44 just wont work for some reason. I download the drivers, it asks me to unplug the maya and to plug it in again but in the end, the installer says that the drivers have installed successfully. Windows says drivers failed to install. I am using the same usb port. That little bubble window pops up saying that the drivers did not install.
What to do???
