Tópico: Which is better for audio,Mac or PC

VDj is compatible with Mac,I was just wondering in terms of accessing midi and audio which is better,don't want to waste my time going Mac then I regret it,so i am asking all the mac users is there a reason to purchase a Mac or just upgrade and stick with my PC.Thanks in advance

As far as I know, MACs support a lower lantency time compared with PCs, values you cannot get when you are using Windows.
So, if you are using Timecode, the best solution is to use MAC.
 
He is using 3700's now, but to me its a toss up unless you are doing video and need s video outputs which MBP cannot do without gadgets.
The biggest gain in that case is the Alpha Color Transition that does not work on PC, its awesome.
As for sound quality, never noticed a difference, nor with latency except in comparison to Vista, W7 is a very good option which I know he has, but I don't scratch with them.

You can't just evaluate the two based on audio alone however, but I've never heard a snap, crackle or pop out of my Mac or had to make performance adjustments or run antivirus with the associated overhead.

I really don't see why W7 can be as good of a performer personally.
 
In my experimentation, Mac offers a better latency so less glitches etc. You also use the core audio in a Mac so no driver issues to worry about like in Windows.

However, current the Mac version of VDJ is still "incomplete", still a few bugs and things missing. I use the Mac version for music only and it's fine but still a bit to sort in it.

Thanks Mp3 Rick for the info,cause personally window 7 has gain on mac,its a good os but my Mac friends keep telling me that I will have a better latency and audio,but since I have window 7 and denon 3700 its all good. I never used window 7 with TT,maybe after all I wont waste my money and buy a Mac.
 
Raymond - a macbook pro costs some serious money - and when u buy it and it is not capable of doing what u wanted - even if it is just for reliability then - it can be frustrating - of course I am talking from experience of less than a week actually - as i still struggle to get my database in from the pc versions (years of work) -

Audio wise - would give the mac the nod - i have noticed a difference (or perhaps it is all in my head).

Also it does seem that you have a great setup.. take some time to think about it before u do anyting. Weigh the cons and the pros - of course if you go mac only for audio.. you know the Serato thought is going to pop up.
 
Why choose when you can have both O.S's on the mac. Bootcamp Anyone ...?
 
Its a myth when DJs say in terms of audio mac sound better than pc. Rubbish it has to do with the soundcad,I have mk2 audio,maya 44 and audio4dj. I have try all three and the audio4dj comes out on top.And I think if you try all three on the mac,the audio4dj will come out on top. MY Dell xps is good with windows 7 and latency is great,just dont like the scratch sound VDJ gives,but if mac can make things better and latency lower,I will spend the big bucks cause I love my DJ work,presently I dont even run antivirus on my pc,internet only for updates,thats it.So if all DJs have to spend the money to earn big bucks then they should have mac and all the expensive equipment to create live and crazy party vibes.
 
I have both a brand new i7 MacBook Pro and a Toshiba Qosmio laptop running 7 Ultimate 64. The Mac is great with Serato as is my PC laptop but with VDJ the PC lappy comes out on top hands down. I use VDJ for mixing music, video and karaoke. The Mac (though some claim this MBP with the i7 is the best laptop ever made) cannot do what my PC does, period... Save a grip and go PC brotha...
