also wavelenght missing an hour or two into a gig.is anyone else having such probs if so what did you do to sort it

holy geez.. sounds like you have three different issues going on.. and i'm not sure ANY of them are related..
The cue point issue is the weirdest one, shouldnt even be possible. :-( *shock*

i have the same problem with cue points, but not on all that are set.

Staffy,

As discussed in PM's have you changed the power supply or your laptop or just the leads? If just the leads, unplug the pwer supply from the mains and run the laptop from battery for a few minutes. Does the static go away?

Cheers,

Roy

it may be due to his soundcard (buffer size) not power/grounding issue.

roy havent tried that yet im trying to isolate problem.but have disconnected ac lead and still cracks.
im using the djm 500 pioneer so its asio soundcard.i dont use timecodes but have to use asio for pioneer djm mixer.

As to the "losing cue points"

the cue points are held by the VDJ xml file, so their are only a few ways you can be losing those files/pointers

1.) renaming files or folders.. VDJ uses the EXACT folder structure and file name to track the XML info with the media.. if that info is in ANYWAY changed it will lose that info..

2.) doing a "clean" or fix" of the database..

3.) using VDJ 6.04 or older.. i cant remember exactly which version it was, but around 6.04 VDJ had issues with it corrupting the VDJ XML database.

that might be it hippy.but why when .xml are meant to save theese critical info.
did race night and then removed files during clean fix ect.maybe thats what happened but really it shouldnt.
roy got ac charger today so will try it friday as havent got time during the week

What type of soundcard do you have?

the soundcard is built into pioneer djm5000.must choose asio to work in settings.

so with new power supply the weekend for my dell laptop when connecting from xlr amp to phono / isolator mixer got ridiculos feedback.converted back to xlr to xlr and all bang on.couldnt hear any crackles from music and pushed it a fair bit.

dont understand all the db ratios ect so relying on you guys and you help really works

quick update guys.
played 4 long gigs last two week and not a problem since i got universal power supply.

Told ya ;-)

Hippy is spot on, I did the clean and fix which stops the cue points from being misplaced, also concerning the waveforms not loading properly set maxload to 1omins. When it comes to the hum then the universal adapter can work also you can take your present power adaptor and buy a grounding adapter which removes the hum from the system. They are less than a dollar US. I use them it on my adapter and all the noise issues have been solved.

lol gadgetman like me mother thank you.amazing how confident you get when you solve problems
