first time i ever got a BSOD on any of my gig machines. i was using the following plugins when the BSOD happened:
Show Logo, Scroll Text, Firetext, Slideshow
i wasn't doing anything special just playing some tracks and all the sudden music froze made a screaching sound on my korg zero 4 and i had to hit the power button to restart. in my hast i didn't even copy down the error due to needing to get back up and running again. is there anything i can check to see what caused the BSOD?

Did VDJ cause the BSOD? Did you check the VDJ crashguard report?

i don't see the date listed in any of the ones in my report. crash guard def didn't pop up before it happened.

BSOD are hardware failure errors - not created by software applications. The problem is Windows had a problem maintaining a connection with a hardware component.
Did you recently do any Windows Updates?
What OS version are you running?
I see you mentioned the Korg Zero 4 - isn't that Firewire? Microsoft just pushed a new update that is suppose to address some Firewire 1394 issues for Windows 7 - so if you are using Win7 then the Zero 4 combined with the Windows Update might be why you got the BSOD --http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982300

i'm using windows xp no windows updates have been done. I sorted out the fire wire issue so far with using grounded plugs. i never got a BSOD when i had my other fire wire issues. i never got one period specially on the new laptop.
