I'm hoping for some insight from someone on this, so thanks in advance for your opinions.
This is the second time this has happened. For no particular reason, after booting up I noticed that cross fading to the right causes the bass eq knob to activate/turn as if the two actions were linked some how. Other sliders and knobs are having the same problem too which makes the controller useless. Last time this happened I thought the mapper got goofed up somehow but I wasn't able to fix/reassign the affected controls. I tried several things to fix the problem including re installing the rmx drivers, system restoring my computer to before the problem began and changing the usb cable just in case it was faulty. If I remember right, none of this helped but a couple days later it just seemed to fix itself. Now it's doing it again.
Here's the thing: I just bought a 'backup' RMX controller last month. I plugged it in and it works fine. I plug the older unit back in and it still has the same issues.
I'm thinking the older unit is on the fritz but it can't be because of my actions. I've never spilled liquid on it and I always keep it in its case when not on a job.
If there is fixable solution for this I'd love to hear it. I'd hate to throw it out and then find out it was something simple.
Thanks~

I would first test the Rmx outside of VDJ to see if it might be a hardware problem. You can use the following procedure:
