I was thinking of purchasing a Vid collection through my supplier of music, TM Jones (formerly TM Century). Their format for vids is DVD or MP2. Does VDJ support MP2 if not which would be the best format to order then convert. Also do you recommend a particular converter software for Mac/Apple.
Current VDJ software
MBP Unibody 13"
OSX 10.6.4
2.53 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Graphics Card

Yes, VDJ supports mp2 from JonesTM. This way you only have to drag & drop the file. We also support PromoOnly, and Top Hits formats. I use all three services. If you get the DV You will have to rip the files using a rip program. I use "smart ripper", it's free and you can find it here. This is a harder, more time consuming method, and you can only do one file at a time. You will also have to tag each one yourself.

I have used SmartRipper in the past as well, before I switched to Promo Only's DFF (mp4) videos which are drag & drop.
I also created a program to automatically name the files after ripping and also join the intros for vids with intros. It needs an internet connection though or a local copy of PromoOnly's music database in .csv format.
It requires Perl to be installed, and is currently specific to Windows, though it wouldn't take much to tweak it to work on mac and linux. I really just threw it together for myself to use, but if you want a copy, let me know.
However, my suggestion would be to use a non-DVD based service like PromoOnly's DFF... It will make your life easier, takes up less disk space, and is IMHO better quality.
