Tópico: Denon DNHC-4500 issue

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I recently changed from a cube PC running windows XP to a laptop running Windows Vista.

I have run into the issue where my controller will freeze but the software will continue to run like normal, BUT with the CPU running at a higher rate. I eventually have to shut off my controller and reboot the software. Sometimes you cant even "force close" the Cue software using the task manager. I have to hold the power key down to force close the whole laptop.

Should I just upgrade to Windows 7??

Any help will be appreciated.

Laptop specs:

Compaq Presario CQ50
Windows Vista Basic
3 Gigs Ram
AMD Athlon X2 64
Nvidia Graphics.

Can't see this being an OS issue .....

Is your HC-4500 running the latest SYS1006 firmware?, could it be a dodgy USB cable, have you disabled power saving on the USB hub?

Check those and report back!

Yes, I have the latest firmware on my controllers, and I have my power settings on High Performance. I've gone through the device manager and made sure to uncheck the power save feature on each of my usb ports. Gonna replace the USB cable and see if that makes a difference.

Since everyone seems to be having problems with Win Vista, thought that could be a quick fix.

We shall wait n see! :-)

Unfortunately MIDI support in Vista is buggy and will stop responding if too many MIDI messages are sent/received in one go (E.g: Scratching with the jogwheel.)

There is a work around for this in the Denon HC4500 controller presets (MEMO button) - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/115215/Hardware_Technical_Support/DENON_Hardware_Products_(Setup__Solutions__Fixes__Issues__etc_).html?page=1

Alternatively, you could upgrade to Windows 7 that does not have this problem and will give you much better performance overall.

Installed Win 7 64bit.

Seems to be running like a champ! First live test tonight!

Thanks for the advice!
