Tópico: New User.. Have Questions, Need Help.

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hey guys (and gals)

I am a new user here. I have worked with SL3 and Serato and even have a Sl3 box, but from reading what I have so far.. I can't even use it.. SO.. what do I need in order to work VDJ Pro?

Serato was out of the box working, and from reading different things here.. I am getting confused. Some are saying I need an external sound card? what is this for and why do I need it?

Also, I plan on mixing music videos and m4a's and mp3's. I assume I can have all of these files on a external hard drive, but how big can I have it? right now, just music alone is 1tb and videos are at 1.5 tb. Is there a limit of what the software can read from on a external drive?

There are many software questions to ask but I am trying to just stay basic for now. To get a feel of the software and what I need hardware wise (if anything)

I am working with 2 Dennon 7500's and a Denon Mixer. I don't have the Hercules thing, do I need it? what benefit does it have vs using the laptop keys?

I was messing around with the software tonight (not attached to any equipment) and had troubles finding the "auto mix" button.. Can I do the auto mix on the fly, or do I have to setup a list.. I dont like to setup lists but I would not mind doing the auto mix on the fly when I am ready, rather than it being auto.

I assume the video part of the software can read vob and mp4 files. Most are vob at this point so I guess I will keep that at that. Would I need a new/better video card? Everything that I am using on my laptop is standard out of the box, with no upgrades.

Windows 7
4gb ram
intel core 2 duo

Any help is appreciated.

It is also a question what do you like to use!
VDJ also workes out of the box, if you have the right stuff.

A good soundcard is necessary for DJING.
Good soundcards are from Native Instruments like the Audio2/4 or 8 DJ or from Echo Audiofire 2/4 or 8.
But it depends what do you like to use. TTs & Timecode or a Midi Controller ...............

There is no limitation!

I don't know the Denon 7500 and the name of your mixer would help too. ;-)
You can share it by link ;-)

But you can use the laptop keys to control VDJ.
If your Mixer or Player have MIDI, you can also use them to controll VDJ.

Have a look here, maybe it also helps for a better understanding in general.

The Playlist is on the right hand side.
You have to fill the list and the press the green Automix Button.
Have a look to the manual.
