Tópico: Fast Track Pro - Virtual DJ 6 Headphone setup

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

I have a problem setting up my headphones right.

In VDJ I select External Mixer as output whit left deck routed to channel 1 & 2 and right deck routed to channel 3 & 4. I am also using the ASIO drivers for the soundcard and all the drivers are up to date.

I get sound both out on my loudspeakers and in my headphones. Left deck goes to loudspeakers and right deck goes to the left channel on my headphones. The problems comes when I want to mix. Why doesn't the right deck also go to the loudspeakers so that I can mix the two together? I have tried activating the PFL for the different decks, but that does not make any differense. If I slide the crossfader over to the left I do not hear anything in my headphones and vice versa. I am also not able to disable the PFL completely for both tracks, but then again I don't know if I should be.

This way I am only able to play the left deck out on the loudspeakers meaning that I could just take my iPod to a gig and set up a playlist. Can anyone help me achieve both monitoring the left AND right deck in my headphones AND sending both decks out on my loudspeakers, so that I can actually DJ with it?

Thanks :)

(Ups, probably posted in the wrong forum)

Thanks, but I have already checked that out. It does not fix my problem, sadly.

You mentioned using an externam mixer...are you using the headphone jack on the mixer or the Fast Track Pro?

The way I had my Fast Track Pro connected at the club was left deck was on outputs 1&2 (white/red rca) going into channel 1 (left/right) of the mixer and right deck using outputs 3&4 (white/red rca) into channel 2 (left/right) on the mixer with my headphones plugged into the mixer. I would use the cue buttons on the mixer to monitor the deck I was about to mix into.

My vdj config settings was: external mixer and asio.

With this setup you would use the audio crossfader on the mixer and not within the vdj software.

I have connected the headphones into the unbalanced input at the front of the Fast Track Pro. I have tried to tweak the knobs on the front with no luck. It seems like whatever I do the sound from the right deck goes to my headphones ONLY and the sound from the left deck goes to my speakers ONLY. I cannot seem to mix the two decks together out loud for everyone to hear, or in my headphones for that matter. It is just one of the decks on each.

If you're using an external mixer, you should connect to your headphones to the mixer - not to the sound card.

Connect your FastTrack Pro to mixer using RCA (red&white outputs behind sound card), plug your headphones to your mixer's headphone-socket and choose "external mixer" from VDJ's config.

It's exactly the same principle as if you would connect to turntables or CDJ's to our mixer.

I don't have an external mixer. Is there no way to do this with only the Fast Track Pro?

Why are you setting up for external mixer if you aren't using one?

You want the settings as follows.
None
Speakers/phones
ASIO>>>>>>>Maudio Fast Track pro

1/2 main 3/4 monitor for channel assignments
In config/options you want the headphones on auto so the pfl switches on load of the next track.

You will have to use the mouse to adjust the cue/mix knob on the skin to control what portion of the main or cue channel you want to listen to.
I've used the FTP for years this way with no problems.

Thank you!

Sorry, I get confused all the time as to what is an external mixer and what is just an external sound card! I should have used the correct terminology, I am sorry.

Thank you very much for your answer though, it works perfectly now :)
