I would say from experience the Audio8 it gives you plenty of inputs and the audio is top rate.
If not a gigaport as long as there are drivers for it.

If you mentioned soundcard for Virtual DJ 7 that means Audio 8 is the best option giving you 4 decks capabilities using timecode or controller. A combination of 2 Denon HS5500 and Audio 8 will give you full 4 decks features using timecode. A combination of 2 Numark V7 and Audio 8 will give you full 4 deck features using controller. You will have to manually select the deck using the computer mouse which could be a little problem for you to do a quick mix. You can always midi map a key on the controller for quick access. I added keyboard shortcuts to the list and save me time. Once you click the deck number and make it lit the controller will reflect that specific deck status. Remember that the controllers are automatically assigned to deck 1 and 2. For example if you're playing a song on deck 1 and wish to mix another song on deck 3 just point the mouse to deck 3 and click and you'll instantly notice that the controller stop running waiting for you to hit play to start the song on deck 3. You can switch back and forth between any deck using the same method. Also 2 Denon HS5500 will allow you to do the same thing without the use of Audio 8. The only problem with the setup is you cannot have 4 outputs using Numark V7 or Denon HS5500. The only way is to select the 2 sound cards options in Sound Setup External Mixer. Do not attempt to connect 2 Numark V7 on the same computer USB ports to have 4 decks features. If you want to have 4 outputs with 2 Numark V7 use a second laptop or invest in Allen & Heath Xone:DX built for the new Serato Itch 4 decks..

Im using a maya44 with an ecler nuo 4 and I have full control of all 4 decks! I do plan on getting the Audio DJ 8 though but for now the Maya44 is kickin ass!!

Heres how they explained it to me.

The VV box is designed to run timecode with a lower latency than a usual soundcard.
There is a bunch of complicated code in the driver and firmware to give it "adaptative latency" to adapt the latency automatically to the lowest your system is capable of, in real time.
But, because of these optimizations, the VV cannot be operated alongside "normal" slower soundcards.
(the VV would have to "wait" on the other cards to keep the streams synchronized, and it's not possible).
But anyway, the VV box does have 3 outputs, so it can definitely be used in a 3-decks mode, and you would even still have the low-latency inputs to get your timecode in.
But yes, if you want to get more than 3 outputs, you'll have to use some hardware that is built to handle such things.
The VV box was built to handle low-latency timecode, not versatility and multi-channels ;)

The 'best' soundcard really depends on your requirements - how much I/O, what type of connectivity to your computer and your budget for example.

I use the Audio8DJ and it handles the 4 decks beautifully. Although with VDJ7 I am having a bit of trouble with the "Record Loopback". Like everyone else is saying, plenty of ins and outs.

1. Please use version 8 free edition.
2. There are several soundcards listed in this thread.
3. Please read the user manual, here.
4. Please do not open 6 year old threads, as the information is outdated. Start a new thread.
5. Home editions are not to be used for parties, if you are getting paid.
