The mixer section on the mixdeck is not midi, just the decks. So either record to an outside source or u can use page up/page down to move your fader on the screen when you need to move it.

Well, u can invest in a cd or digital recorder. I have another laptop that I use to record by running rca jacks from record on my mixer to my mic jack w/ volume control on the scond laptop. You would need a program like nero, cool edit pro or anything else equivilent for recording. It sounds primitive but trust me it works. Sometimes you have to K.I.S.S.(Keep it simple stupid) LOL. But with my Hercules RMX I can record internally. I like flexibility....;)

I recorded a mix on my Mixdeck into my Ipod using VDJ6 and it works but sounds like crap..I also think it picks up the cueing on the other deck..sounds like something is scrapping..but low toned.I .wasnt happy with it..so I used rca out on the booth
and into my laptop mic /in and it sounds 100% better using on board soundcard.

Exactly Lineman, I just choose to use a 2nd laptop so that I don't have any lag or issues with latency.

thnx ill try using one of those programs and a second laptop but the mixdeck is a piece of sh*t i read the vd7 audio setting manual and actually u can rewire it by adding a record loopback but now it says i dont have enough channels and actually it gives me the option to choose a mixdeck line in sooo wtf????
thnx again for the tips yesterday i tried audacity pro but it sounds like sh*t jajaja!

having a problem with assigning 2 channels on my numark mixdeck. which causes a recording problem. when i play the first channel while im recording everything is fine, at the same time im listening the song on the second channel when the volume slider is down. but it still records the second channel. how do i fix it ? do i need to get a mapper for that ?

This is because the mixer section of the MixDeck is a real hardware audio mixer.
