ok...so first the soundcard is what actually allows sound from device- ie your sony has a soundcard in it which allows you to hear your music, wit the controller its pretty much same thing, you will be able to hook up your device- to your sound system or speakers and have a plug and play set up. however for a few extra bux you can get the rmx which has a soundcard.

a controller is just that a controller, it will control the software, some have bonus of the sound card, your lappy has a sound card but it will not allow you to preview a song in the instance of having a dual soundcard ie controller/ and computer soundcard.

im not getting techincal as you wouldnt have asked if you were techincal however if you need more detail or insight just watch the post it will pick up. or do a search on here for soundcard and more topics should pop up..

good luck.

You can use the sound card on the computer, but you will be limited in options and quality. If you can, spend the extra and get the RMX, which is the same as the Steel, but it has a pro sound card built in. Do not buy what you can afford, buy what you want. So either wait and save for it, or go into debt like everybody else. You will only regret it and buy what you need anyway.

Thnxx Guys For Ur Suggestions

And

It really Help me

Tell me one thing more clearly

what will be the negative effect of not getting another sound card instead of using laptop sound card wid steel /??\

i hope u get my point guys !

the main negative i can think of will be not being able to preview your next upcoming track- to me thats a major as you want to kno if its the rite song first and the timing for beatmatching..also the sound card on the lappy is not the best sound to try to run on speakers or a set up.although it can be done you just may not have the"SOUND" you wanting or looking for/..

im in the U S so idk bout that site sorry maybe some1 with knowledge of that site willl help you out.

Thnx MISTAH !

I NEED HELP ? I HAVE THE NUMARK MIXDECK AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. THE MIXER ON THE MIXDECK IT SELF WORKS FINE WITH VRTUAL DJ SOFTWARE BUT THE PLATTERS ON THE MIXDECK WILL NOT WORK . IT ISNT CONTROLING THE SONG ON ETHER CHANNEL. PLEASE HELP I ONLY BOUGHT THE MIXDECK CAUSE I WAS TOLD BY THE SALESMAN THAT IT WOULD WORK WITH ANY DJ SOFTWARE OUT ON THE MARKET.

thank you for any helpful INFO. IN ADVANCE

It will work dude i just got it to work with my Apple Pro but im having trouble getting it to work with my ASuS laptop which is running windows 7. Make sure you have this config going single output external mixer and sound card numarkmixdeck go to mappers also and there is a small side panel looks like a small diagram press that and turn off the show device setting and you will see numarkmixdeck make sure and have that going so VDJ will notice. Now here is the problem i have i can't get my ASUS to marry the platters on the mixdeck so guys give me a hand here yeah friends yall remember me so give me hand here...

I have no experience of the company that you mentioned, but I, along with many others I know have used DJ Kit - a well known and respected company with real world premises.

Here's a link to the RMX on their site - http://www.djkit.com/product.php?id=3885&highlight=rmx

Another alternative is to buy a DJ Steel and also a pair of Numark PHX USB headphones.

The PHX USB headphones connect to your USB port (self installing driver) and then, after configuring in VirtualDJ, they will allow you to preview (Cue) in your headphones, whilst sending the master to your in-built soundcard (I must sit down and do a video showing my pair in use).

Hope ths helps.
