Tópico: Save settings for VDJ6 AND VDJ7

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Ok, so here is my scenario -

I used VDJ6.xx for karaoke gigs (Numark TC controller and audio 4), everything worked fine. I also used it for my timecode needs with my NDX400s and DDM4000 mixer, great setup, sound wasn't perfect.

Then Pro 7 came along, and I was in love. The sound engine is amazing, huge kudos to the dev team!

I have both installed, both work fine. I do one consistent karaoke gig, with some mixing on my TC, but mostly, I do gigs where I use timecodes, so I always had to switch back and forth on 6.1.2.

I would like to, however, do the following. To keep 7 clean of any changes to any settings, (TCmania 1366X768 skin, audio 4 timecode advanced settings with second sound card for samples and recording, using NDX400s and DDM4000 mixer {to be mapped as midi}, not to mention latency/performance settings) I'd like to use 6.1.2 with the following (Video scratch 1366X768 skin, audio 4 sound card, Numark TC controller with auto latency settings, etc etc)

My issue is this, whatever changes I make (sound, performance, options and skin) in one happens in the other. I understood that this is a separate install. I'm not trying to run them both simultaneously, but I'd like to be able to launch 6.1.2 that one day a week when i have to do karaoke, and have 7 just for timecode use.

Is this possible?

Those settings are kept in the registry which is per user, So the easiest solution is to set up anther windows user account and install VDJ again in that session. hopefully you can swap between them keeping separate settings. I've not tried this but it should work!

The EXE files are seperate true enough, but settings are not part of that file, it's only the VDJ program itself.

trying it now, and if that's the case, I'll just use Pro 7 on that account too, seeing it as it's so awesome...report back in a bit

Keith -

Seems to be working! Haven't ran extensive tests on it, but the settings saved as needed. (When I logged into the original account, I saw on the desktop the icons for VDJ7 from the karaoke account install, just deleted them, used my taskbar shortcut to launch the timecode account one). I switched back and forth, setting each one up exactly how I wanted each side, and everything seem fine, (copied the database over for my reg mp3s) will test it this afternoon. I guess the only thing to remember is to update the databases from time to time so I keep the same cue points, playlists, history, and files.

Yeah, that's it ...... all you need to do is copy over your playlists, history & DB and the job's done!

I used 2 sessions of BPM Studio just like that for years, one for my remote tablet and one for the main session and it was faultless.

Let us know how it pans out for the future!

Quick question, I'm a Dj and I have created my own samples, when I save them they are put on the sampler.. No problem, but once I end the session and turn off the program the samples go away. I turn on virtual Dj and all samples are blank... I try to load my samples manually and it doesn't work... I can only load the factory samples, can I get some help please, it's urgent!!!
