Hi everybody,
I´m testing VDJ 7 Free and I have a strange problem:
On my Laptop I have 2 User Accounts, one for doing the usual stuff like surfing via Wifi or printing and so on, and one acc only for mixing with VDJ. In this acc. I stopped every service that isn´t needed and optimized everything possible to get the most power out off my Computer.
But now the strange thing: VDJ uses on the first, non optimized acc., about 10-30 % CPU usage in Idle mode, in the optimized acc. VDJ uses 40-60% CPU usage in Idle mode!! The settings in VDJ seem to be absolutely identical in both accounts, also the skins and the performance settings are the same!
So what could it be that VDJ uses mor CPU Power on the one useraccount???
BTW, Sys is WinXP, Pentium 1.73 Ghz CPU, 1 GIG RAM (no, it´s enough and has nothing to do with my problem ;) )

DJ Samual,
Try enabling some of the services that you disabled one at a time. I think that you will find that one of them is causing exessive CPU usage by being disabled as some services that run under winxp rely on others to function. When one service is disabled and the other is trying to run, it can stall and cause CPU usage to peak. This is mostly noticed when using network services and disabling some of them while still trying to have an Internet connection while using your second account may be the problem.
So try and enable one at a time that you have disabled and test it. Make notes and write it down :) You'll find it and you will be rockin' soon and never look back!
Cheers

Well, I compared all the services running on acc. 1 and acc. 2, they are absolutely identical.
Maybe it has something to do with ASIO, because when it is not chosen in the VDJ Config, the CPU usage of the optimized account is below 20%, just like the admin account. But when ASIO is active, the CPU usage is again about 40-60% in Idle mode. But remeber: ASIO is also active in the admin account with only 10-30% CPU usage!
I really can not understand what´s wrong and I´m no Windows noob.

Holy crap, I found the solution!!!
It was the damn skin!!! It was set to 1280*768 pixels, my desktop solution is 1280*800! So I switched to 1280*800 in VDJ et voila: 0-10% CPU Usage! Unbelievable that the skin made me insane!!!
