Hi all. i hope i find you all well and groovsome.

I was wonderin' if there are any women DJ's out there in VDJ land, or is it just me????
or are they at home knitting and cleaning and petting little fluffy kittens and wovely wabbits!!!

Not a VDJ user, but a friend of mine (MisyDJ - Resident at Liqued/Envy Wrexham - Serato user), is doing the business t'up north and is on this years Ministry / HedKandi tour, as well as playing on the white isle.

She's just got herself a custom VCi-300, now all she needs is converting to the VDJ faith and she'll be rocking...lol
 
We have a few ladies, I mean female DJs here. Welcome to the family.
 
Just make sure all your gear is white to match the kitchen appliances :)

Seriously though, it's really cool. I only ever had one female trainee DJ called Rachel and she was hot. She spent too much time hanging round the door staff and not enough time in the DJ box!

Hahaa!! Thats funny you say that cause 1 day I was at work thinkin of names and Sammie popped up. Well when I got home my wife had been doing the same thing and guess what she came up with...................yup, Sammie. Lmao!! I guess it was meant to be, lol!!

San francisco was well known for the "Sisters Collective" an all Girl D&B crew which included Polywog,Dj Siren,Xjs, and many others.then theres my old friends Rebeca Watkins (House) & Dj Denise (House,Trance) whos spun in Europe as well as here...

Maybe a virtual pink version ov VDJ or a Sexy Red Skin would help!!!

I'd like to expand on your question as you raised some interesting points.....

The industry does seem to have an imbalance of female djs , producers , studio engineers & remixers yet there's no shortage of musicians & artists.

Theirs a great opportunity & potential for someone to consider creating academies,training courses , dj events & agencies. I think some sort of union would also help encourage more females..

I hope things improve in the next generation as the numbers are very disproportionate.

Concerning wimmin turntablists...Im aware of Tyra From Saigon, Kuttin kandi , DJ Shortee ,Dj annalyze,Dj chela ...you can find plenty of videos of them battling online or myspace pages ...... I would also add both versions of spinderella ( salt & pepa ) jazzy joyce & Wanda dee as old school turntablists.

I'm new to this forum as well but not to djing in general. I actually started with VDJ, moved on to some other stuff and finally came back to the fold. Please feel free to friend me.

AND I will be asking ALOT of questions ...don't worry :)
