Hi All
My system has recently started to freeze for 10 seconds every 1-2 hours of playing, Normally when VDJ freezes the songs keep playing but on these occasions the music is stopping along with VDJ.
Thought that it could be the system overheating so I adjusted my design to allow better airflow and now the inside does not get hot at all.
Also thought that it could be the auto defrag so i have disabled that.
The system is not connected to the internet at anytime so there is no viruses on the system
Installed Avg and ran a test to make sure and everything was fine (and removed Avg again)
My system.
Duel core 2.4gh
4gb ram
720Gb HDD
Advent 22" Touch screen (all in one computer)
Just wondered if anyone can throw a few more ideas of why it could be freezing at me.
Thanks
Nick

Have you tried running the DPC Latency Checker? http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
You may have a rogue driver or process that is causing your problem. Have the latency checker open, out VDJ on automix and wait for it to barf. When it does see if there is a spike in the checker.
It won't help you identify the rogue item, but will determine whether the issue is OS based.
Also, if you can pin point when this started happening, try and find a restore point as close to this date as possible and restore back to then. This will roll back any drivers/updates that may have been installed.
Then start rolling forward again, but one update at a time or leave it where it is...
Cheers,
Roy

is it from an external hd your music comes from.
try go to your system config and make sure all usb ports do not rest during non use.
what do you have your power settings/battery settings set to in power management

The music is on it's internal hard drive. But i will check to ensure that the same problem is not happening with the USB mixer.
With regards to a rouge driver or process, i don't think it could be that but i will investigate on that.
Normally as i say VDJ on my laptop can freeze for a few seconds but the music continues to play where on my desktop unit it freezes the music too.
