Does the XP MODE in WINDOWS 7 actually run stable like a good tuned XP SYSTEM after a few teaks?
Just curious. :)

Not sure for vdj but I can tell you that XP emulation mode in windows 7 definitely DOES NOT run like an XP system for Point Of Sale software (my day job).

I haven't tried it, but with any other virtualization software you’re still running an OS within an OS. Of course if you have a processor that supports hardware virtualization that will make it run faster but you will have 2 operating systems sharing the same resources. It will not be as fast as just having one OS running. Example Win7 needs around 1 GB to boot, XP uses 512 mb to boot, then you will be using 1.5gb.
If it works great, then use it. Personally I would be scared about low latency sound cards and realtime applications having another layer of software to talk through.
