Tópico: Question on virtualdj Karaoke setup

I have installed Virtualdj 7.o

So far I have learn the basic on loading the songs mp3's
now I decided to learn how to use the Karaoke part of it.
I selected the MP3 with CDG in the same folder.
the song plays but no text comes out in the small window
I click on config.
Video output is active, tv output to my video card,and the use hardware accelerator is click on.
on the codec tab I don't see CDG i dont know if that is needed
i try to add but not possible i don't see how.

Im running WIn XP pro
with Matrox video card. (dual Head)

Does anybody have any ideas how I can fix this problem

Both the CDG and the MP3 must be named exactly the same as each other, e.g:

ABBA - Dancing Queen.mp3
ABBA - Dancing Queen.cdg

If the files are zipped, then you must use standard compression (Such as the built-in ZIP support in Windows (Right-click -> Send to compressed folder.)

Artist Jose felicano - track1.cdg
Artist jose feliciano - tarack1.mp3


Now the only differene is that there are 20 mp3 songs and CDG file in the same folder
does that make a difference?

other then that they are the same name as I spell it above.

any suggestions?

thats how its supposed to say

Artist Jose felicano - track1.cdg
Artist jose feliciano - track1.mp3

no spaces after the track name and the .cdg
 
That is correct I think everthing is fine is just a setting int Virtualdj

I also downloaded AVS Video Conerter and I went from
CDG to AVI then to Mep4, then to mepg
and i still dont see any video.
I also did all the updates of Xp and installed
I don't get video.


is possible to send these file to someone so they can run them
and see if you guy's get to work.

Any help is appreciated.

i have been using this for some time on karaoke and its one of the best try downloading windows codac pak mate as some codacs are not always present in windows this should cure your problem with this and as previously told make sure the filenames are the same i.e track1.mp3 track1.cdg you can alsodownload some software that will rename the songs properly.

As you mention to try CODEC mate & CODEC light none
of those will make the KARAOKE work I have try checking and unchecking
in different ways Just can't get it going. by the way after I installed all the codecs
Virtualdj would not work I had to reinstalled the program
now the program works , but no KARAOKE yet.....

I will keep trying..

I have been running karaoke on VDJ with no problems but all my files are zipped ie each mp3 and cdg are in the same file. Suggest you use a program called MP3+GToolz (yes its spelt right) - have a look on youtube as there are some good tutorials on there - esepecially about ripping info from cdg discs into zip files in order they can be used in VDJ.

One obvious question - do you have any other software on your PC that can prove the files are actually working already as it could be the cdg file that has no data - there is a codec for WINAMP to do this. - Just a thought - you may have done this already.

In VDJ go into 'Effects' select 'Video Efffects' then select 'Karaoke'. Press the 'activate' button and also have a play wth the 'list' and 'config' options here for karaoke lists.

Hope these suggestions help as thats how I got mine working.

The files must be named EXACTLY the same, including upper/lowercase, i.e:

Artist Jose felicano - track1.cdg
Artist jose feliciano - track1.mp3

Is wrong because the MP3 has a lowercase j for jose instead of Jose used for the CDG file and the CDG is missing 'i' from feliciano. These need to be named exactly the same, i.e:

Jose Feliciano - track1.cdg
Jose Feliciano - track1.mp3

I'd also suggest putting the proper song name instead of 'track1'.
