Tópico: Touchscreen On A Laptop ?

I am interested to hear peoples views on the following;

I currently run VDJ 7.02 on a laptop ACER Aspire 5739G and am looking to try and include a touchscreen option and was wondering which way to go ?

What I mean is I've been looking at a 15.6" touchscreen overlay from www.elotouch.com and using this with a controller thru usb or is it better to buy a separate 19" or 22" LCD and do it this way.

Has anyone went up this route yet ? I am keen to hear other peoples experiences as there seems to be lots more touchscreen skins coming available and don't know which way to go.

Any input from other fellow DJ's would be great!!

Just make sure it's multi-touch, I tried it once a while ago before multitouch screens became more affordable, I liked it except for the fact that i couldn't do multiple things at once since it wasn't multitouch.
 
I think one of the mods (DjDad) has a touchscreen overlay.

You could always send him a PM and ask.

anyone remember who had 3 tablets as their decks and mixer a while back? i can remember seeing it and also read he would build and sell them. those things were effing amazing. they were quite expensive but man were they worth it.
 
I work with a 17" Dell Laptop with multitouch screen. In case of a problem with my midi controller I can use the touchscreen. However VDJ does not support multitouch yet. And you will need a special skin where you have faders and no knobs for bass and treble etc.
 
Surely if you have windows 7 which is capable of multitouch it should work ?

I have seen video's of people using this for VDJ this will work will it not ?

If not in multitouch surely it's only a matter of time before VDJ update the software to cater for this as it is the way forward I think.

There are touchscreen skins starting to appear over the forum and it's the way things are going.
