Ok so when my playlist is loaded into the very right pane it also loads into the center pane. And when I click on a folder to view more songs that I might potentially add to the playlist, the playlist in the right pane disappears and the folder that i clicked on loads into the center. So basically, the only way I can add songs to my playlist while it's already loaded is by entering a words into the search field and individually adding them. Why can't I load the folder to be viewed into the center while my playlist is loaded into the right pane? Am I doing something wrong?

In the config-Options Tab you will find..
AutoLoadPlaylists with 3 available options (Smart, Always, Disabled)
If you chose Disabled the playlist on the right side will stay there whatever you do.
With Always the center and the right panel will show you always the selected playlist.
With Smart the playlist on the right side will stay if you remove or add anything from there.
So if you plan to make arrangements in your playlists, set it as Disabled but Smart is what i use.

I too noticed the playlist behavior when I first started using the software. But I also found the options that the previous post mentions. I use "smart" playlists too. It seems to be best and actually performs as I expect. Sweet!
My advice: poke around, mouse over everything, you learn the commands and functions that way. Then search here, use Google or YouTube. There's so many settings. I'm still learning...

Ok so I had to set this option to "Disabled" in order for the selected Playlist to remain in the "Playlist Pane" as I scroll through other folders. I now want to add a few songs to this existing Playlist (edit the playlist), I drag such songs and now I want to save it. When I click on Save it asks me to re-type the name, now the names of my playlists are not single words and retyping it exactly as they were is very tedious. Any way to just re-save using the same name of the Playlist that is being edited?
If not, then this would be a suggestion for the next release of VDJ: add a Save/Save As... (w/browse window) to the Playlist features. Also moving the "AutoLoadPlaylists" config settings into a button in the actual Playlists Pane would be ideal.
Would it make any sense to maintain a sort of Playlist using "Virtual Folders" instead?

I agree that a "Save" and a "Save As" feature would be nice.
Here is something that I would like to see improved but maybe I have something set incorrectly that is causing this problem.
If I have a song near the end of a long playlist and I want to move it toward the top, it appears that I am only able to move it as far up as the top of the playlist I can see. I then have to drop it toward the top, scroll up, and then drag the song to the top of that portion of the playlist. In other words I have to ratchet the song up instead of being able to drag it to the top in one action.

ha ha, sounds like drag-mouse scrolling was not activated on that pane. Sounds like something that can be worked on...
Now that I think about it, I don't think any of the bottom panes are drag-scroll aware.

How can I copy a playlist from one pc (and ext hard-drive) to another pc (also with it's own ext IDENTICAL hard-drive). I have some awesome playlists but would love to have them on the second pc as well. Cannot find any playlist files on c: drive or in program files....?
Also, if I copy them across to pc 2 (in the correct folder) will VDJ automatically open them (or do I need to somehow "import" them)...?
Any help appreciated. Tx.

Generally playlists are kept in Mydocuments\VirtualDJ\Playlists folder, but you may also copy your playlists anywhere in that hard drive. Then simply browse and locate those playlists using VirtualDJ browser.
However, playlists are path sensitive, so in order the files of your playlists can play without error, you need to keep the same folder structure on that new hard drive and same letter.
If the folder structure is same but the letter is different, then you have to manually edit that using Notepad or similar editor and replace the different drive letter.
