Never tried this but i believe it works.
Use a 4Deck Skin and then configure the Advanced Config like this:
Master -> Omni SK ASIO -> Output 1&2
Headphone -> Omni SK ASIO -> Output 3&4
Linein1 -> Omni SK ASIO -> Input 1&2
Then connect your iPod with your Omni Soundcard (Input1)
After that create a Keyboard Shortcut with the Action - deck 3 linein 1 on
If you now press play on your iPod "and" press the button on your keyboard, the iPod sound comes out.
But you can only adjust the volume (linefader) inside VDJ, but you can't use VDJ to control the iPod.
To select a track, press play/stop etc. you have to use the iPod himself.
I believe also, the Sync function, did not work.

I am going to try it and write back what happens but the omni has only two input's and it is the headphones in the front of the controller and the mic in for mic's. on the back it has 2 channels for RCA it says in the omni book to plug your sound into line 1 and use line 2 for recording stuff then there is the usb in then the power supply if there is another way of inputting the sound let me know

Upps, sorry had the wrong controler in my head!
You are right, it can't work that way, because the Omni hasn't the needed Inputs.
Sry, mate!
But you can try to use the LineIn from your Mac and use it in the same manner.
So link your iPod to the Mac LineIn, if your Mac have a "LineIn". ;-)

So i put the config like you said with the omni minus the line in and it works great but i tried doing the line in from my mac which i do have on my mac and i click apply and VDJ says invalid config your sound card is unplugged or you did not config it right.
any way you can use the sound card from the mac and the omni ? should be able to with VDJ's recent upgrade

Hey,
there is this software called Senuti, http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
it will let you download the music from the ipod to your computer.. then just load the songs that he needs to a playlist in iTunes or a folder on your desktop and then just control the songs from VDJ
Hope that works!!
