Hi everyone, Im new to this concept so I could use some help/tips.
I mainly only listen to Hiphop/triphop/acid jazz. I wanna record a mixtape, but I think its really difficult to figure out how to make a smooth transition into another song. Like for example, theres a beat and instead of stopping the beat, I want the new song to sort of overlap that beat, but in a way so the rhythm or beat doesnt stop. I dont wanna sync the beats, but I just want a song playing and then another one right into it, so it matches the beat.
How do I stop the first song and play the new song at once?
Help is much appreciated!

I do this alot since I make mixtapes on the regular. There are many ways.
I do the following:
1: Echo out; end the song on an echo and after synching up the new song I want I slide in the new song and the kill the echo.
2. Break over: Synch up new song to song playing & just kick it right in on beat.
3. Of course just blending them works.
4. Synching the songs up & use the reverse on the song I want out.
5. Using special effects is always good.
I have several ways, sometimes you just have to just be creative.

undermixing works well, also harmonic mixing does the job too. i find as soon as i notice a section of bass i bring the other track in quite fast so follows on. also i use dropping a lot. drop in a bass from track 2 on a breakdown from track one or vice versa.
theres all sorts i do to gain a smooth transition but it varies from set to set.
