Free app that let's you control your favorite Dj Application Havent tested it to see if it works with VDJ but feel free to download and test it looks like a Hercules RMX :)
Claims to work with VDJ

To make it work You need a DSMI server installed on your computer you can search the net (Google) or click on settings when the app is open and and scroll down under technical and read midi to wifi

Dj Toni ,

You must be using 'Droid OS version 2.0 or higher....

I had a play with this but didn't get on with it. TouchOSC is out for Android btw :)

Scott I know you got alot going on right now, but can you expand on that alittle more, in laymans terms, lol!

Thanks for the time
Huey

Well I emailed the creator and he is making the definition file for VDJ7 and it should be released next week!!

Huey

Still would like to know how to setup Touch OSC..........

TouchOSC is easy, although at present the Android version doesn't support custom layouts unfortunately.

Install it from the app market, and then the PC side is the same as the iPhone/iPad version.

I've actually got a plugin here I've written that acts as an OSC server for VDJ which I wrote to use with the Mix2 layout on TouchOSC. No other software needed ;)

Ok I've downloaded the app but what do I need to do on the PC side?? How do they connect?

Thanks for the time
Huey

I would so love to be able to justify spending £400+ on an iPad...but to be honest I would prefer a true Android app, as you can buy Android 2.1 powered 7" tablets in Maplins for £129...so that means I could basically buy three 7" Android tabs for the price of an iPad....

The day an Atomix app for Android OS becomes available...I'll be straight down to my local Maplins and hammering the credit card...

pure data
MIDI loopback eg MIDI yoke
Pure data touchosc patch

I've got a plugin which bypasses all that but its not ready yet. My own Android app uses OSC too ;)

So I need to download all 4 of those programs!?? That's seems like alot?

Huey

pd does the conversion from OSC to MIDI
MIDI Yoke is the virtual MIDI port VDJ and pd will see
The patch tells pd how to convert OSC to MIDI

You asked!

Like I say, I have TouchOSC talking directly to VDJ with no drivers, software or voodoo needed. I may well release this plugin in the future.

Lmao! Yes I did.......Scott im gonna buy you a new cape cause like I said before you are my new favorite super hero!! Definitely release that one!! Need a beta tester, lol!! No foreal ill test for you!!

Anyone have the commands for the play and cue buttons. Tried DJ Control and Touch OSC, they work sometimes and not other times, so I am missing something. I have the fader, sync buttons working fine.

What are the commands you all are using for Touch OSC?

IE:
deck 1 cue_stop
deck 1 play_pause

or is there something more to this like:

deck 1 play_pause ? play_button ? etc...

thanks,
David

Ok, found this is correct for the play button:

"deck 1 play_pause +1"

The +1 does not work for cue_stop, but I need something to tell it to trigger when its pressed down.
I believe that VDJ is seeing button being pressed and released?

thanks,
David
