I'm after upgrading my internal HD to 1TB anyone know if the one I've seen will fit?
Toshiba MK1059GSM - Dell 1520
Current HD is 9.5mm and new one is 12.5 in width however I think it's still compatible with certain laptops.

if its a 2.5" laptop hdd then it should fit. the best option would be to contact the seller for compatibility.
also to be honest a 1tb internal in a laptop is a bit extreme. if you put your music collection on it then chances are you will slow the laptop significantly. why dont you just go buy a 1tb external? staples are currnetly selling them for £54

I would have said an external would be far slower than internal. Even USB3 or Firewire 800 can't match the speed of an internal SATA drive, even at 5400 RPM.
If you fill your internal HDD then it will only slow down if severely defragmented.

Yes, internal are so much faster hence why I don't do ext HD's other than back-up.
I found a western digital that was a TB and 9.5mm so sorted.
Thanks
