Any standard DJ CD player can be used with VirtualDJ by using timecode CD's.

You will need a suitable ASIO sound card with 4 inputs and 4 outputs such as Hercules DJ Trim, Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ or ESI Maya44 USB.

NOTE: Gigaport HD is not suitable because it has no inputs for the timecode signal. It has outputs only.

Timecode CD's can be created yourself using the file downloadable from http://www.virtualdj.com/products/timecode/cd.html - Simply use your CD writing software to burn a couple of audio CD's using this file.

VirtualDJ Professional http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html is required for timecode use (VirtualDJ Home FREE allows timecode to be tried out for 10 minutes at a time: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html )

NOTE: Your computer needs to meet and preferably exceed the recommended specification on the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/virtualdj/index.html

Hi mate.

Be aware that some of the CDN95 effects might behave diferently to what you expect when using timecode. If you like the CDN95 another suggestion for you would be to pick up a DMC2 controller. Its front panel layout matches the CDN 95. Although Numark no longer make the DMC2 there are still plenty of them about and you should be able to get one fairly cheeply.

Hi mate

The Focusrite 2i2 has only 2 Mono channels, 1 Left and 1 Right. For timecode use you need a card which has 4 input channels and 4 output channels. This gives you a Left and Right Channel for each deck.

There are plenty around though ( Hercules DeeJay Trim for example) and yes you could use the CDN95 with them.

Cheers
