Tópico: Come Controller Questions

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Hello-
I use Virtual DJ Pro and like to mix and play dubstep, house, techno, triphop and have been mixing some punk and indie stuff.
I play at small parties. I currently have a Hercules MK4 which was given to me as a gift. I love it but the lack of buttons is driving me crazy and the feel of the machine in general. It just feels choppy and like I am pressing fat telephone buttons.
I want to upgrade and I want something with more control and integrates well with VDJ.
I a looking at:

New Hercules 4MX
Vestex 100 MK2
Vestex 300 MK2
Waiting for Reloop Disc Jockey 3 - even tho I do not know anything about this company.

Not sure how these pair up.

On the new Hercules how does the touch interface on the platters feel and does it work well?

I live the the way the platters on the Vestex feel but I am concerned that the Hercules platters don't have the same feel.
no stores by me have the hercules 4MX on display to try.

Thanks

From the models you mentioned above I would go for the Vestax VCI-300...

Now I am thinking of either Vestex VCI-100 MKII or Hercules 4mx?

Anyone use virtual DJ with VCI-100 MKII?

I like the extra FX buttons on it but not sure they are mapped out on VDJ?

I'm not really sure about the Vestax controllers, Vestax 300 I hear is pretty good though.

In that price range there is some tough competition like the Denon DN-MC6000, and Native Instruments Traktor S4. Both of which are amazing but the Traktor S4 uses Traktor but comes with the Pro edition of the software out of the box. If you must stick to your guns with VDJ, I say get the MC6000, I found it online (Amazon) for $700. It's the last controller you'll ever need, that good.

I use the VCI-100 SE which is an older controller and was already natively mapped by VDJ. With version 7 Pro and this controller combination I have not had as much as a hiccup with the combination. Smooth as silk.

what is ur budget

Around $600

I am thinking I like the Vestex but not sure how they map out on VDJ.
I want access to effect and filter buttons which i don't have on the Hercules MK4.

The Denon is amazing but large and really I am not going to be in a sound booth
or playing at a night club at least I don't think so. Mostly bars, backyards, and house parties.

Vestex 100 VCI MKII has a 4 channel out
and
Vestex 300 MKII is only 2...

Does anyone have this mapped out and can tell me if they get good
use of the buttons and adjustments on these things?

Went with Hercules 4 MX.
After trying to map a korg and dealing with XML crap I decided to dump my gear
and get something nicely mapped to VDJ.

VCI 100 MKII looks amazing but really I am not a pro and was worried about the mapping to VDJ and the portability.
I decided that Hercules has everything i need for what I do.
I bought it from Beach Audio for cheap and they shipped it over night for free
which surprised me! Came with a carrying case which is nice.

It's metal. It's looks to be made well and it's a step up from the MK4.
Now I can spend the remainder of my money on speakers which I need.

I will report back once I use this system. But I am impressed with the build quality and the way it is designed.
A lot of people say it's ugly looking but actually the photos on the web
do not do it any justice. It's a nice kit.

I haven't used any of them, but I'd say the denon is definitely the one you need if you're not in big night clubs or bars that have their own proper mixer set up.

It's the only one with a real mixer built in, so if your computer crashes you can easily mix into an ipod or cd player, or your backup laptop or whatever. And it's the only one with proper mic inputs and EQs, even though you're a mixing DJ, you never know when you might need to jump on the mic, even if it's just to shout "the cops are coming!" :D

Or maybe your friend comes along with an extra set of speakers- no problem, the denon has got a booth output so you can sort that out easily too. None of the others have as far as I know.

Just my opinion, loads of controls, but also loads of really useful stuff for the real world too.
