I just recently purchased a Numark Mixtrack Pro because I have a gig coming up soon ... and I'm having some problems with the crossfader (which is obviously extremely important).
The crossfader on the hardware and the crossfader on the computer software (VDJ) are not in sync ... when I put the crossfader to the its middle point on the Numark Mixtrack, it doesn't go to the halfway point on the VDJ software ... and for some very odd reason when I put the crossfader on the hardware all the way to the right, the software Pitch on the VDJ goes all the way down to its lowest level.
Is this a hardware malfunction? What could be causing this?

DJ Milz, I am new to the forum so I didn't know that there was an option to register the product -- But there you go ^ , it's the Numark Mixtrack Pro
Would really appreciate it if you could help me out with the problem ...

Have you checked in the config to make sure the MixTrack Pro is selected as the controller?
Also make sure the MixTrack is set up as your sound device as well.

I don't have this controller, but am sure someone who does, will be here to help you. Let me just ask some basic questions. This controller shows up in the mapper section? Have you tried to remap the crossfader? There is a auto mapping function, have you tried that?
Just for the record, we even help those that have cracked copies of the software.

The controller does show up in the mapper section Yes ... How would I go about trying to remap the crossfader and where is the automapping function located?
Also, the MixtrackPro came with a version of VDJ LE 6, I had problems with that so I thought maybe it was an outdated software problem or something so I also downloaded a cracked version of VDJ 7 Pro, still the same exact problem ... I even tried it on a different computer and it was the same exact problem with the crossfader.
I called Numark and the guy on the phone said something about how the MIDI is not communicating correctly (I think that's what he said)?

With your controller selected, go down the list till you see crossfader, and highlight it. What does the action say? You can change it to what ever you want. The auto function is called Action-Learn, a little box on the same page. Hover over it with your mouse, and it explains what it does. You can select it, and then select the crossfader on the skin, and it will crossfade.

i am fairly sure that your install did not completely "take"
since the midi component of it is not working
uninstall reinstall
do not connect the usb cable until prompted
when you connect the usb cable make it so that the only usb device the
computer can discover is the controller .....

After running through all the suggestions ... unfortunately nothing worked ... I got them to send me a new controller so hopefully the problem doesn't reoccur ... Thanks for the help

Also, how would I go about making sure there is no trace of VDJ or the Numark Mixtrack Pro on my computer? I want to start from scratch ... I uninstalled VDJ but I'm not sure how to go about wiping it off my system completely ... also how would I uninstall the hardware drivers for the Mixtrack?

nyslee, sorry for your misfortune. I've had no problems with my MixTrack Pro and I love it. Great piece of kit, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Good luck,

I have exactly the same problem, but with the pitch slider on the right deck. If i leave the pitch slider of the mixtrack pro at the middle (0%) the pitch slider on VDJ is just below the middle, like in -10%. And the yellow light at the left just turns on if I position the pitch slider of the mixtrack pro just above the middle, like 10% also. I've tried the controller in many computers and VDJ's and happens the same. I have also checked the mapping and nothing. Can somebody help me?

does the mapping say pitch_slider, if so try using just pitch
this is the definition for pitch_slider : set the pitch of the deck, to be used by hardware controllers. if the pitch is changed by the software, the hardware slider will be unlinked from the real pitch until it reaches the actual pitch position again.

Not sure what kind of a gig you have booked but, may I make some suggestions?
You should have bought the gear first, learned EVERYTHING about how it works and how to fix it if there is a problem BEFORE booking a gig as a "Professional DJ." UGH, I mean c'mon man. I am not trying to be a downer. I would love to see you succeed in this business. In order for that to happen, you need to slow down and take things step by step. Here is a line that would make a great sig:
Two turntables and a mixer does not a DJ make.
While I can't offer a specific answer to the problem with the controller, the larger issue here is you are jumping in feet first without know just how deep the water is. Is your media library clean and legal? Do you understand what that means? (if not, clean means all the files are tagged properly, and the majority of the bitrates are all the same. Legal means you paid for them.) What happens if your controller fails, or laptop crashes right in the middle of your show? You just gonna throw your hands up in the air? Perhaps wave them around like you just don't care? What is your backup plan? Every so often, I will take a tracklist from an event and I will mix it again at home. I record the mix and burn it to a cd and I copy the file to my MP3 player. In the event of computer, controller, or software failure, I flip over to the mix cd. If a CDJ fails, I run the MP3 player through the mixer. If the mixer fails, I carry a cable to patch directly to my powered speakers. If the speakers fail, I have a network of people here I can call. In less than an hour, I could have another set of speakers setup and ready to go. Are you prepared on that level?
