I'm pretty sure that the mixer part of the xone 3d is analog, so the crossfader volume knobs, effects etc... are not midi and therefor you cant use them to control software, analog is way better than digital for this type of control anyway.

You can map the crossfader, I mapped it when I had mine, there are many controls in the mixer area that are MIDI.
For the full MIDI chart see page 27 of the owners manual

Hi... it is not so difficult to map a controller in VDJ as this software is constructed by the most intelligent software engineers and there's no such softwares like virtual dj that is built in an open source environtment of mp3 mixing programs. I'm a hobbiest and i've made skins and modified mappers and mapped countless of dj controllers as many ask help if ever. The only problems in mapping and skins is! i must have the controller with me for at least a week to test the programs mappers if it works properly or not, now without the controllers with me, no programers in the world could guess what is the function of each buttons in a controller, remember that you have to assign functions on each buttons, sliders, keys etc. just immagine that there are thousands of Dj Controllers in the market and all of theme have their own functions. Or you can try it in the vdj settings then choose mappers and from the mappers you can select on top dropdown menu the name of the controller which is connected in your PC and then once you have selected the deviced you map one by one on each buttons and functions you wish too. Goodluck.....

Hi Ponto...

Hope this will help you and i read all the post here and it is all useless & not so specific. First of all you have to know the basic mapping everybody here is just saying one word mapping then syntax and i'm sure those will not work. If you made the syntax without assigning the midi address that represents in number of the specific buttons, you can not assign the mapping remember that every controller has its on button assignments and midi address in terms of number in order to be recognize by the software-VDJ. Now below you can find the examples of the midi mapping i have made in XONE:DX for Allen & Heath and it is working fine. The basic mapping has categories that you fillin in order to be understood by the software-VDJ first is the DEVICE-Definition files and the MAPPING-Mappers files that is found in Virtual DJ Folders and those files are editable in XML you can change save the files in XML editor programs. Please find below the examples:

DEVICES: definition.xml
<jog cc="0x26" channel="12" name="JOGWHEEL" deck="1" Full="0" />
<jog cc="0x26" channel="14" name="JOGWHEEL" deck="2" Full="0" />

MAPPER: mapping.xml
<map value="JOGWHEEL" action="jogwheel" />

The number "0x26 is the midi address that represents in numbers of that button in the controller and the channel is the zone/layer where it is located in the controllers and after knowing the address and the channel of your Xone 3D you can change the "0x26 & the channel number and paste in your definition files in the device folder. And to do that you can see the manual of the Xone 3D in the last pages that contents the midi addresses and the channels and map it to what ever you like ("by the way Allen & Heath are stupid doesn't know midi mapping and everytime you hook up the XONE to the other computer it reads different midi address which is not the same as in the users manual") and you can change the action=jogwheel_touch, action=touchwheel, or action=jogtouch or you can also change the value of FULL="0" to any numbers let say 2560 and you will feel the difference of each action and when you're done you save it and try your controller how it works. Goodluck.... cheers...
