I went to go see an usher concert last night, and the opening act was the cataracs. they were great, but they used a beat pad thing that sorta looked like and mpd16. well they were using that to more beats while their songs were playing. so thats what i wanna do. is there a program that i can use to assign beats to my mpd16 so i can make little beat patterns while my track is playing on virtual dj?

I have a korg nano pad and I do the same thing. Just add drum hits to the sampler and map your pads like this,
sampler 1 play_stutter
After youve done that drum away, its pretty good. If you were a pro licensed user you could download the Sample Manager, with that you can store sample banks. Meaning you can have different drum kits stored and change them with the push of a button.

Well just google "drum sounds" and there should be a ton of results that pop up.
