Tópico: I have thousands of zipped files....

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

So I have about 20,000 Zipped karaoke files that need to be renamed. All of the file names are named as such:

Album - Artist - Song Title.zip

When it shows up in VDJ the album and the artist are in the Song column and the songs are in the artist column. All I need is Artist - Song Title.zip

So far I've just been going down the folder and deleting the album part so it is easier to search. As you can imagine this is getting tedious as all get out. This would go much easier if I could select a batch of files and just delete the album info and I'd end up with what I want, the placement of the *space hyphen space* plays a big part in how VDJ reads a file.

Is there a plug in for itunes that will let me load zipped files into the library or a program that does that? It would be a huge help.

Amazing software: http://www.publicspace.net/windows/BetterFileRename/

It will do what you need if you are looking to dynamically rename tons of files. I use it regularly and in combination with Tag & rename, and moleskinsoft clone remover to completely organize tens of thousands of single track tunes.

I appreciate the suggestion, but is there a version for mac?

I'd suggest unzipping all of them.. Zip files are so 1995. There is no need for them any longer and really don't save much space anyway. plus, the bog the system down when sorting through them. I'd use Tag & rename or a similar program to retag and rename the files

I am in the process of converting all mine to .mp4 files, then you can rename, tag them, play them, edit them and replace the karaoke instrumental with the real one if you want just like any other video file.

Wow, why hadn't i thought of all that. That would be so much easier. Thanks guys!
