Tópico: Question: Which Controller To Buy

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Alot of people on this forum ask what is "the best" controller to buy, but I understand this is a broad question. I am a beginner dj (only about a year or two of experience) and I would best fit in the category of a mobile dj. When I first started out I bought the very basic Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2 because it was what I could affor at the time. Now i am ready for the next step and am looking for more proffesional controllers. I have been looking at the AMERICAN AUDIO VMS4 and the HERCULES DJ CONSOLE 4-MX and was wondering which was the better of the two for EDM type mixes or if there were better options. CDJ's would be impractical in my case and vinyls as well.

I have the Hercules DJ-RMX and just started a while ago as well. I'm looking to upgrade too and I have been eyeballing the Denon MC6000 and the Numark NS6 (this does not come out until June). These both are tremendous from everything I have read and seen of them. I guess the biggest question is what is the budget?

I love my mixtrack pro. Good for a beginner, great for mobility I do want something with motorized faders but not a necessity.

Either one should work well for EDM. Your budget will decide. I recently sold my Hercules RMX. Great piece of equipment. It worked flawlessly the two years I owned it. I just outgrew it.

Right now I'm using two Denon DN-SC2000s with a Rane MP 2016 mixer for mobile work. This setup is more like the traditional two decks and mixer. I need the extra mixer inputs for mics, the occasional extra deck, MP3 players and guest DJs connecting to my sound system.

But I also do a lot of DJ'ing in small bars. And my mobile setup is too big and bulky for bar tables and small booths with narrow counters. So I also need a controller I can throw in my laptop bag.

So, I'm looking into the Novation Twitch or Vestax TR-1. Both can control 4 decks (with the use of either switches or buttons). Neither of these controllers are native to VDJ. But because they are MIDI controllers, they can mapped to work with VDJ. I like being different, LOL.

Wouldn't the Numark NS6 be a best choice for EDM mixes? If you've not seen the videos on You Tube of it in action, check it out. Due out in June I've heard for $999.

+1 for the MixTrack Pro

works great with VDJ7

I use the MC6000 and I LOVE it.....granted I'm a hip-hop DJ...BUT....I think it'd work good for EDM too. I took the two Paramater knob and made them filter knobs since I'm not a video DJ....actually works out pretty well. The looking function on the MC6000 is pretty sweet too...PLUS...it's already mapped for VDJ AND Traktor so if you decide to check Traktor out, it has a bit more versatility. Plus the mixer on it can work as an analog mixer so it can be used even without being plugged into the PC.

I'm in the same boat, have an RMX (which has served me well) and looking to step up.
I'm looking at the Numark NS6 for my next investment.
