Just picked up one of these and i can't get virtual to see the midi control. Sound card works great (u can even run time codes into it). serato and tracktor picked the midi right up. how do i get the simple mid wrapper to open and see it. so frustrating all i wanna do is map the crossfader to do video

You need to have a definition file to Virtualdj\devices folder
Try this one
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/11883/DN-X1600_.html

Uhm, he said DN-X600, not DN-X1600. They are two different mixers, so it's the wrong definition file. And speaking of definition files, it should not be necessary. I'm fairly sure the MIDI-functionality on DN-X600 is similar to DN-1600, so you should be able to map it using just the Simple MIDI mapper. Worked fine with my DN-X1600.
However, make sure you have the latest version of VDJ and update the latest firmware on your mixer. I recall having the same problem with my DN-X1600, but firmware update plus (at the time) latest version of VDJ fixed the problem.
