Tópico: Great powered sub for the $$

I heard many single 18 inch compact subwoofers from QSC KSub, KW181, Mackie, RCF, JBL PRX, EV Elx etc. If you want a great subwoofer that really kicks without breaking the bank. Check out the harbinger HP118S. It screams slightly less bass than a QSC Kw181 sub and you are paying 699.

Ya that's not a bad for the price. But can you daisy chain your two mains speakers from the sub or are you stuck with buying a mixer?

I looked at those when I got my EV LiveX series. I decided on the EV's simply because of their amps on the active subs and sounds a little better. The EV's were only a little more but the Harbinger subs were very good.

I'm considering adding another sub to my setup. The harbinger sounds like a great deal. Right now i have 2 Mackie-SRM450v2 and 1 SWA1801z sub. My questions is, could i use these two different Subs together? ( i don't want them to cancel each other out). If i was to get the Harbinger sub..is it best to place the subs far apart from the SWA1801z or next to each other?

It would be the Best to run two of the same subs, same power, same sound, same frequency, etc. Its not an absolute MUST because we have ran subs before in case of emergency (blown sub, etc) of two different types. However it is much preferred to run the same subs in Pairs. You can run 2 Harbinger and two Mackie's together and sound ok, but one of each is not recommended, like I said unless you have to.

Sub placement depends on the gig. I like mine about 10 feet apart but thats just me. In a bigger room I will have them further apart, smaller closer together. Bass is not directional so it is not 100% critical of placement like Tops are.
