you dont NEED lights around the booth, its a choice.
also, i very uch doubt you will make more money just cuz you have a light up booth.
people pay for your skills. you can have the best lighting rig in the world, but if your skils are pants then you aint gonna get paid.

I don't think you could charge more really, it's not a skill of additional equipment to offer.

if you're doing this at a local club, and because of this people are coming back and bringing their friends, then yes, you're making money. If not, it could be cuz they didn't like what you played.
At a wedding, you might be able to charge for this.
