i would like to update my ID3's sothey have keytone info embedded. however mixed in key doesnt write to the correct section in the id3 and whilst looking for other methods..Trackturd doesnt detect key tones at all.

anyone know of another way? thanks.

Yes its possible, right click on the track then hit file info. Look for the key info and hit the button to write it back to the ID3, this is all in the VDJ manual.

Good Luck

is there a way to do it that doesnt require me to go through my entire 175,000+ track collection one by one?

Yes but I'm not allowed to share approved tools here.........

Huey

are you allowed to name the approved tool?

or have skype so i can pick your brains?

Huey ...

If it was an 'approved' tool then there would be nothing to hide - now would there ?

Yes I know, all it is is that key stroke script from awhile ago that another user had submitted. I can see why it was not approved, don't get me wrong.........but it works and that's what I use. I'm not even sure what can be shared here anymore, I posted it once for others and it was removed, wasn't trying to make money off of it anything but it was removed...........so I just assumed we could no longer post anything and the fact that I've seen many links removed in the past few months.....

Personally I use rapid evolution and mixed in key, virtual DJ's accuracy on my files isn't very impressive, for this reason I'd advise not writing that many key tags from VDJ.

Instead of speaking in split tongue why not send me a PM ...

Its not even that serious Chris..........

Hello! I Just started to use Rapid Evolution 3. It seem to have much better key detection than VDJ , especially when it's capable to show starting and ending keys. For example "Whitney Houston - I wanna dance with somebody" shows in VDJ the key as "1A" and RE3 shows "2B->4B" (song starts with key 2B and ends with 4B) which is proven to be correct key and key transform.

I would like to transform RE3 key detections to VDJ database. But how? I use mp4 video files. I tried to write RE3 detections to file tags but virtual dj does not see them.

EDIT: It seems that VDJ key field is limited to one value. It could be cool to save for example whitney's "2B->4B" to "2B" to VDJ key field and "->4B" to comment field. Is it possible?

So what do you guys think is the better when it comes to detection?

Mix in Key 5 or Rapid Evolution 3? RE3 pretty much sucks in stability and speed but is free and has a good reputation in accuracy, but if MIK5 has a better detection than its worth the cash.

Btw, I'll be modifying my Tag Synchronizing tool to update the keys from the ID3 tag back into VDJ. Just gimmy a little time :P

Rapid Evolution has good detection but the program isn't very good imo. Through frustration I just bought MIK5 and it's a much better program, key detection success seems high at this stage.
