Hi,

This might be a really simple question but I'm having a heck of a time with it. I just purchased the Hercules RMX and am trying to learn the basics. I want to load up 2 songs and switch from deck a to deck b (crossfader?). Nothing I try seems to be working. The only way to hear the other deck is to plug some kind of headset/speakers into input 3/4 but then of course I dont hear the other deck. How does deck switching work?

Please check that the RMX is configured correctly - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/RMX.html

Make sure that you have plugged a pair of powered stereo speakers into the master outputs 1&2 on the back of the console and your headphones into the headphone socket of the console.

Alternatively, connect a suitable cable (2x RCA to 3.5" headphone jack) from the master output of the console to the line input of your computer. The sound will then come out through the computer's speakers (If not, go to your sound card's mixer/control panel and ensure that the line input is not muted and the volume is set to an appropriate level.)

The crossfader controls which deck plays out live over your speakers. Press the CUE SELECT button on the appropriate deck to choose which to pre-listen to with your headphones. Use the MON SELECT knob to choose how much of the pre-listened deck vs the master output is heard in the headphones. Also, make sure that the headphone VOL knob is turned up.

NOTE: VirtualDJ LE/Console Edition is limited software and does not support outputting sound directly through your computer's own built-in sound card with headphone pre-listening. It is designed to work with the sound card in the console only. For more flexible sound configuration options and much, much more, you will need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Pro at a discount: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
