Tema: VDJ 7 is not what I thought!!!

Este tópico es antiguo y puede contener información incorrecta para la nueva versión.

Okay I need to rant for a minute. First off I have numerous issues with this program. First is the sound quality it is horrible no matter what I do to fix it. I get a popping through out my mixes. It destroys my mixes everytime especially while recording. Next is the fact that every few weeks for some reason, my settings never change, it puts one song on both decks. I have fixed this numerous times but it never fails to come back. Next when beatmatching by ear and having it properly matched the graphs are always off. What is the point if they are always off when doing it by ear. I enjoy interacting with the crowd so this feature just is useless. I have the most basic setup cdj 400s and djm 400 with the downloaded software for the soundcard. I seriously feel I wasted money on this program and really just want to delete it and try to get the money back. I know that probably won't happen and now I am out the $300. Sorry to just bash on this program but it just seems inferior to other programs I could have purchased. Now I know I may have problems with others as well but this is just rediculous. Sorry for you all that like it or it works great for you, but maybe it just does this to me.

I have done this over and over and over. My cdjs work perfect without the software and the buttons all are fine and they work fine in vdj except the times these issues happen which has been almost everytime I use it recently. That tells me the cdjs are fine. My speakers are crisp without vdj so thats not the problem. My settings are the exact setting a moderator here told me to do. I have advanced config, deck one cdj 400 asio output 1&2, deck 2 cdj 400 asio output 3&4, reloop for the recording with input 1&2 with the only setting it sounds decent if I use any other it is distorted so bad that you cant tell a beat from another beat. The record input is the right size not a headphone jack as well. So with this all said it has to be the software itself. I have researched and tried anything. The decks are assigned but like I said sometimes they mess up and I have to go in to reassign them which is a giant pain in the ass. Before I even start playing I have to go in and hit apply to all the settings cause if I don't it sounds horrible with distortion until I hit apply then it sounds fine except the popping. Its not my headphones because any other time playing my headphones sound good as new. Some days its totally fine other days it totally sucks. I have checked the latency and thats fine I also disable my internet while playing to keep the latency down. Like I said I have done everything. Sorry if I come off as a dick but I have done what you said over and over lol. Thanks for answering at least. Oh also when just messing around with nothing hooked up and its just my computer its completely fine. May sound like a hardware or setting issue but its all new. Even a new computer with more than enough specs for avoiding these issues. Sorry just very frustrated lol

Hi inception

First of all, it's VERY hard to read your posts because the text is all bunched up. Please put some white space in!

Second, it's not VDJ that's the problem.

Many thousands of people are using it, and if it was the software then many thousands would be complaining.

The issue is somewhere else in your setup.

From your comments, it sounds to me like a sound card issue - either with the drivers or with your latency settings.

Rather than complaining, if you provide us with some factual details about your setup and config, we may be able to get to the bottom of it.

You have successfully removed VirtualDJ from the list of possible problems by doing this.

What is your firmware version on your CDJ-400s?

This is normally caused by performance issues with your computer and/or incorrect configuration.

Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20PC%20Performance%20Issues.html or http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20Mac%20Performance%20Issues.html

Make sure that computer beat grid (CBG) (Squares under the main waveform) line up with the beats, and the first large square is lined up with the first beat of the song. If they do not line up, play the song and then tap the BPM button on the default skin in time to the beat of the music, making sure that your first click is on the first 4/4 beat of the song. This information is stored in the VirtualDJ database, so will be remembered the next time you load the song.

NOTE: For some older music recorded with live drummers, it will not be possible to get the squares to line up perfectly throughout the entire song due to the varying tempo. This is also the case for any music that starts off slowly and ends at a faster tempo, or vice-versa. Music like this is not suitable for automixing or using the SYNC button. You will need to beat match this music manually by ear or visually using the waveform (Use the pitch slider and/or pitch bend -/+ buttons to adjust the playback tempo and manually match the beats of the two songs with each other.)

I'm sure once you get the kinks worked out of your system, you will be very pleased with VDJ.

Make sure you aren't running on a PC that you also use for surfing the web. If you are then you either have all kinds of virus/syware/annoyanceware running or you have anti-virus. Either one will reduce the performance of your computer greatly.

If the sound is really consistently as distorted as you say, then there is very likely a problem with your audio hardware.
Also, make sure that if your audio is going over USB, then make sure your music library is not also being accessed over USB.
I would also suggest eliminating the audio input at least temporarily. You can record your mix without that if you have a MIDI crossfader.

I downloaded the recommended firmware for vdj from pioneer.

This sounds legit. I use itunes right now for all my music. Whenever I adjust something in itunes it does the same in vdj. So I am assuming its going over usb. I have the cdj connected to my laptop via usb 2.0. As stated before when just using my cdjs and no computer they work fantastic. Sound quality is great and everything works as expected. I use this laptop for many other purposes but check for viruses and all that stuff regularly all is clean. I also disable the internet when using vdj. I also have used the latency checker to make sure it is fine and it checks out. What do you mean by the audio input? Could you clarify that for me? Also how could I make it not run over USB and still access all my music? I don't know of any programs to use for my library that will work well with vdj either. Also the midi cross fader confuses me as well. I am pretty new to all this but have searched and researched so much its hard to take it all in.
